Summary: Stick to the facts
Review: Deadly Innocence is, by far, the best book I've ever read! It's the best one out of all four written about them. It has in depth interviews with Paul and Karla's close, personal friends, including Paul's best friend Van. It throughly explores both of their childhoods and right up to their trials. Van talks about his and Pauls many trips to Florida, Pauls many girlfriends, the night Paul and Karla met, Van's witnessing of Paul's facial assult on a girlfriend years before he met Karla. This book talks about how Karla, after she was arrested, tried to make everyone think she was forced into EVERYTHING simply because she was abused, physically and verbally, by Paul. This book also tells of how Karla, 21, befriended a 15 year old girl simply for the purpose of drugging her. Also of how they tried to seduce Tammy's friend, after Tammy died. If you are interested in reading a book on these two fools, Deadly Innocence is THE one to get! It's the ONLY one with must read interviews with their own friends. I would give away ...

Summary: Well Written
Review: Deadly Innocence, was well writen and very well researched.
The Authors go onto explain the Gruesome crimes, of Karla Holmolka And Paul Bernardo.
Deadly Innocence informs the reader of the Couple's Childhood, their family life, and basically includes details on their backgrounds.
However this book is lacking, important details about the crimes.
I believe every detail is crucial, and for some odd reason this book seems to leave out graphic, details that could be read in another book.
I'd still suggest this book to anyone.
Thank you for reading my book review, and Happy Reading!!!!

Summary: Very Intriguing!
Review: I could not put this book down! My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts for reading this stuff (true crime), but I love it! Throughout the book, I could not wait to see what happened next. Paul seems to be such a charming, handsome man, but the more you read, the more you really start to hate him. It's incredible what he got away with by using his charming, clean-cut image to disguise his sickness! And the fact that he had Karla so brainwashed that she believed he could do anything he wanted is mind boggling! I highly reccomend this book to true crime fans.

Summary: A riveting but sickening book - it will give you nightmares.
Review: I couldn't stop reading this book once I started, and then I couldn't sleep anymore after I was halfway through it. I knew the story of the "Ken & Barbie murders", and this book gives great insight and background to the lives of the murderers. The authors go into almost excruciating detail of Paul and Karla's childhood lives and upbringing, and give the reader a detailed account of their sick & twisted relationship through the eyes of their friends. The authors do not address the actual crimes, the murders of Tammy, Leslie and Kristen, until the very end of the book when the trial is covered. If you want more coverage of the actual crimes, and less coverage of murderers who committed them, read "Lethal Marriage" by Nick Pron; his book gives the reader actual conversations from the videotapes made by Paul & Karla and their victims during the horrendous sex and murder spree.

Summary: Jaw dropping, nail biting, and eye popping...
Review: I first heard about the story of the two MOST DISGUSTING PEOPLE ON THE PLANET in the early 90's after they had been apprehended. The old news show, Current Affair, covered it..even then I was engrossed with the story of actual events that took place in Canada. It's just one of those things you never forget...why would anyone do something like this?!?! It's unimaginable!!! I read this book in 2 days, though I did find myself at times getting bored with the long drawn out, almost repetitious writing style of the two authors.

The book did make me incredibly angry at the fact that Karla was shown to be a victim in all this instead of the co-murderess she is!!!! There should be no way in hell that she is getting out to live amongst us all in 2005!! She should be rotting in a jail cell just like her partner in warped crime, Paul!!! She is just as guilty as him if not more, especially considering the women she lured for Paul.

I did like that the authors focused on the 3 murdered victims,Tammy Homolka(Karla's owns little sister, Kristin French and Leslie Mahaffy, it gave the readers an insight look into what kind of wonderful young women they were before they were horrifically tortured, raped and killed. Also there is a little court room dialogue and also dialogue from the sex tapes that Karla and Paul shot of there infamous rapes. There are also interviews with their closest friends...I still find it a hard time to believe that no one suspected a thing...despite all the times Paul screwed other women and beat Karla in front of them.

I also still wonder how did Paul, an unemployed loser, have so much money? I dont believe it was just from smuggling cigarettes across the US-Canadian borders. And Van, Paul's best friend, how could he not know that Paul was the Scarborough Rapist, especially since they spent so much time together trying to get with women for one night stands? In the beginning the police always believed that the Scarborough Rapist consisted of 2 males, long before Paul met Karla....could Van been involved too? Just a thought.

The book does get graphic and if you are anything like me, the details will vividly be etched in your mind for a long time after you close the book.

Summary: Horrific crime!
Review: I give this book 4 stars, even though I found some of the descriptions just too much. Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka look like the ideal couple next door, but the reality is far from that. Paul is a sexual sadist and it can never really be actually proven if Karla herself is just as sick as her husband or if it's all a result of the horrible abuse and brainwashing she has endured over the years by him. Although you can't help feel sorry for the unbelievable treatment and horror Karla has endured, you can't help and wonder if early on when the relationship started getting weird or when he first hit her, had she stopped the relationship then, if all three young women's deaths may not have been saved, if not all three then at least her own sister, Tammy's and Karla herself would not have had to endure what she had, as well as being sent to prison. I was actually looking forward to this book ending, cause the cruelty and depravity Paul exhibited was just too much. All though, you can see how Paul's childhood and adolescence led to this, how Karla's upbringing resulted in what it did, makes one believe she really may have been a victim just as Tammy, Leslie, and Kristen were. All in all, this is a good true crime story, but very graphic and violent. A heavy dose of romance novels are now in store for me after reading "Deadly Innocence."

Summary: A Book You'll Read Over and Over Again
Review: I hadn't heard of Paul and Karla until I bought this book, and now I feel as though I know them. This was descriptive, intriguing, and a book I could not put down. Upon my first time reading it, I was on Karla's side... but after a few more times you begin to doubt her "vulnerability". I can't wait to read more about this case. A MUST-READ for True Crime Fans.

Summary: This story hasn't been written correctly once...
Review: Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka are without a doubt the most amoral and dreadful human beings I have EVER come accross. I have 3 different books about them but feel like the story has yet to be told as well as others have. My first exposure was through this book with all it's lurid and shocking details. After reading it several years ago I was stunned into silence for almost 10 days. I could barely speak... unable to understand how anyone could possibly sink as very low as Karly-Curls did. This book actually destroyed something in me and left me feeling indescribably different about the rest of the world. That Karla hasn't died from simple shame equates her mortal value with that of a PIG. I am ashamed to be in the same species with garbage like them. Enjoy the book.

Summary: Incredible Story!
Review: Read this book and you will find it difficult to put down as I did. Two great looking teenagers with looks to die for and a mean streak they shared.......or did they? Karla Homolka says she was a battered wife???? ( oh really??) Paul Bernado great looking guy with an urge to humiliate, rape and dominate killed three innocent young teenagers in the most dreadful way - his girlfriened ( Karla) sat by and watched! He then raped her kid sister while she watched and she held her down while he raped her. She also happened to help drug the young sister. Karla then married her sisters killer a few weeks later. Bizarre! disgusting! unbelievable but very very addictive. There are 3 books on this famous case this is the first and one of the best but the story is gruesome and impossible to believe. If you like true crime this book is amazing many of my friends have read it and agree it is one of the most incredible cases of modern day murder. Read and be amazed! shocked or even disgusted but you will be unable to put the book down.

Summary: The Truest True Crime Book Ever Read
Review: This book is so disturbing. It was so well written with such great detail and descriptions of each and every person involoved. You really get the feeling that you KNOW these people. I've read numerous true crime books over and over again....When I read this book, I literally had to stop reading true crime for a while. The things these two people, this couple, this husband and wife did to these women and Karlas very own sister is disgusting, disturbing and unbelievable. Paul was cruel to his wife but she is just as twisted as he. Remarkable book. A must read!
