Rating: Summary: Got Me Off My Butt Review: As I'm entering a whole new world - somewhere in between 40 and 50 years old- with a soon to be teenage son, one still in elementary, and in constant search for success, this book has inspired me and made me laugh about all my old fears. Life is full of challenges, this book makes midlife not one of them. This book was just a great guide to where my life is heading. I found it very refreshing and it reminds me of when I walk out of an uplifting movie, and I feel good. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Finally! A perfect book for us!!!! Review: I am 46 years old and searching for a way to make the second half of my life even better than the first. I have things I haven't done yet, ideas to nurture into reality, and relationships to develop! But all these negative tapes in my head developed over the first half of my life, are holding me back from the second. The beauty of this book is it gives us actual stories, exercises and a CD of visualisations to help me reprogram the old stuff and create the life I want! How perfect. The Guide To Fearless Aging is making me so excited about the possibilities again. I haven't felt this great in a long time.I have joined a group that uses the ideas in this book as a springboard into a joyous and productive midlife. I have never had such support. You have to read this book.Thank you Nancy and Marilyn. Finally!!!!
Rating: Summary: Motivated Review: I love the book and attended a seminar by the authors that was informative and fun. I am going to enter my 50's in style and fighting all the way. I decided after the seminar to get myself in the best shape I can be for my 50th b'day next year. I am now a boxer and plan to fight my first fight on my 50th Nov. 19th 2004. My thanks to the authors for writing this bood and exposing the myths of our age!
Rating: Summary: CELEBRATING THE JOURNEY! Review: I LOVED this book! I am a 55 year old female who has always been commited to my life getter BETTER as I mature. There is not always a lot of support for that in our youth obsessed society. This is the BEST book that I have ever read that celebrates and honors the aging process. It has great stories and exercises and does it in such an entertaining and inspiring way. I feel rejuvenated and more excited about the second half of my life than I have in awhile and more grateful for the journey I have taken thus far. It also kicked in my creative juices about what I can do to make my life increasingly more FUN and fulfilled in every area of my life. My girlfriends have also thanked me over and over for sharing it with them. THANK YOU Marilyn & Nancy!

Rating: Summary: Not Anybody's Realistic Midlife Review: The authors wrote a funny and sound self help book. For the young and resilient. It's full of affirmations, workbook activities, social activies, and visualizations. Lots of personal stories. All great for those still resilient enough to wear torn jeans and see death as an abstract concept.I'm fifty-four years old and don't consider my midlife unusual. I lost my career to a chronic and serious medical condition. I lost both of my parents in the same year. I lost my daughter to an unusual group of friends in a different culture. I lost my financial security to the aforementioned medical condition. I lost my looks to gravity and stress. I lost my best friend to cancer. I lost my husband to his own midlife crisis. And my friends are in similar situations. Costume parties, massages, journals, and prayer are all wonderful ideas, but most women my age have tried them all, long ago. All those ideas get old, fast. I don't feel pampered by facials anymore; I just feel like an old broad with mud on her face. If you're looking for basic "Who Do You Feel You Need To Forgive?" self help, this book is fine. If you're going through any real crises in your midlife, you'll feel cheated. Remember that the authors are successful TV personalities with money and influence enough to arrange a sudden funeral, get a facelift, and load up on hobby material. Personally I just can't relate.
