Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK! Review: Dr. Virtue explains everything so clearly with plenty of examples that anyone can identify with. This book is easy reading, and helps you feel like it truely is easy to get your Divine Connection to God and your Angels. Doreen also includes explainations of the 4 different "Clairs" with meditations, prayer examples, and exercises so that as you are reading, you are given opportunities to learn ways that will help you to develope and open your channels to divine communication. You easily get the jist of what the exersizes do - and you can continue to practice these exercises with other books, magazines, or with other friends. This book also teaches manifesting/co-creating with God. If you have purchased her "Manifesting with the Angels" CD, you will notice that what she writes in her book "Divine Guidance" is practically identical. This is truely an easy to understand book, and I definately recommend it to anyone who is curious about God and the Angels, and I definately recommend it to anyone looking to get their connection to the light. Other great books are The Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss, Conversations with God by Neale Walsh, The 72 Names of God by Yehudah Berg, and Blessings from Above - Cassettes from Gary Spivey garyspivey.com.
Rating: Summary: New Age "Psychobabble" Review: I find this book very hard to put down. It's very interesting and goes into detail about how to better communicate with the angels, god and spirit guides. It is written so people of any positive religious path can read it. I am Wiccan and substitute Goddess when she refers to God. She even encourages substitutions if you prefer when she refers to God. I am half way through so far and can't wait to read more. I definatly want to read her other books after reading this one.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK! Review: I had never heard of Doreen Virtue or her books and a friend found this book and asked if I wanted to look at it. I spent about 15 minutes and immediately knew the writer had the ability to communicate with angels. I was impressed. I have a huge spiritual library and don't believe in religion and usualy only get impressed by only the greatest books ie Conversations with God, Abraham:Hicks cassettes, Real Magic and many more. I was single and looking for a great loving relationship with a special woman and not having much luck. After about 6 months of trying several dating methods and getting poor results I got hold of this book and went directly to the two chapers on loving relationships and soulmates and spent 5 nights reading the 2 chapters and following the instructions and writing a full page decribing the Dream Soulmate woman I was looking for. I meditated a little on my soulmate page each night for 6 months and then met someone who in 1 second when I saw her left me speechless with her beauty. Athough we spoke different language and couldn't communicate without dictionaries we quickly fell in love and were married in 3 months and now 2 years later we are still in deep love together in an amazing match made in heaven. My relatives were all blown away at our sudden wedding and impressed by my much younger, very beautiful and extremely talented bride with multiple degrees and even a World Championship and I am still convinced it was all because of the Divine Guidance book's instructions. Now I am out of work and will quickly read the chapters on employment and career. I believe in angels and God and am not impressed by the bible or churches as I think they take our power away from us. Doreen with this amazing book helps us tap into the Universal Power and Love of all the heavenly beings to help us fulfill our dreams. Every day I am thankful for this book and have recommended it to many single people. It is one of the best I have ever checked out and I have checked out hundreds of good spiritual books. I understand some people feel this book is not believable and nonsense and I feel they are missing out on something that could truly empower them.
Rating: Summary: A Sad Reflection On Virtue Review: I have recently been cruising Amazon.com to purchase some books for Christmas in the New Age section. I have noticed on A LOT of other authors book pages someone is going around writing reviews and recommending Virtues book over other or in addition to their books (the other authors). I would walk over broken glass before I would buy a book from an author who uses such despicable methods. There is NOTHING angelic or Heavenly about these spam tactics.
Rating: Summary: Almost useless. Better titles on the subject are available. Review: I've been hearing a lot on the angel hype lately and decided to check out this book, especially because it seemed to focus on trying to achieve a sort of connection to (quoting the publishers) "the voice of God". This interest is of course only common in people that have some sort of religious belief (in any form). Being an open minded skeptic (in my case that means an inquiring theist, not an atheist) looking for answers, I decided to take a look at this book. Unfortunately, it proved to be a complete disappointment, I honestly could not get much out of it, and am not really curious now about Dr. Doreen Virtue, or any other of her many books and appearances on TV. This is a great book if you're a fan of any of the angel theories, and believe in it. If you don't believe but also don't say "no, I'm sure it's all your imagination" (that's my stage), you will probably need a different approach than having the writer out of nowhere start talking about seeing angels (with wings included), hearing clear voices, feeling changes in air pressure and temperature (being touched), and lots of other strange events as if they are as common as drinking some water. I'm sorry if Dr. Virtue does indeed feel all those experiences and is honestly trying to share knowledge and help everyone to see the "transparent people" she says to see, hear and have physical contact with. I tried, but the cliché angel lines (tons of it), the outrageously lame psychological tests to see which of your senses you use more, and the overall uninspired text bored me to death. Not to mention the usual "case studies" where it's always impossible to know more about the patients and the situations. Oh, and yes, the high redundancy... in fact, I think that when I reached page 50 I had the feeling that those 50 could all be summarized effectively in 5 pages without losing any information. I'm not the kind of reader that says that all new-age authors just care about making money pumping out books at high rate, saying the same things over and over again in different ways even when parts of it make no sense, but in this case, I had to rethink that it might apply in several cases. I was also amused by the way she mixes all sorts of highly incompatible principles and religions in a nice soup (which includes Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, A Course in Miracles, etc, etc, etc), in a degree that is puzzling, even for a book of this kind where it would obviously be expected. And God? Well, overall, who cares; We like angels, and we think it's all the same anyway. There are a few good thoughts, not all is bad and this title does have its virtue (no pun intended), but in general, it is very repetitive, uninspired, and worst of all, does not manage to convince anyone who isn't intensely convinced already about any of the claims. So if you are not deeply a fan of angel literature, stay away from this book. If you are still curious about the topic, try to find better titles. In any case, if you're a fan of the New Age section at the bookstore, you might what to know that another new-age title that does not directly focus on this "building of relationship with the divine" surprisingly ends up being A LOT BETTER in providing advice on that than Dr Virtue's book (and yes, it mentions angels). That book is "Creating Miracles", by Carolyn Miller, a lot less known, a lot less Oprah-ish, but also seems to be a lot less...bad. I seldom read books I end up calling "useless", and have never returned a single book in my life (not even the weirdest ones) but this one had to be the exception. Back it went. If there are indeed two angels by my side, one is probably nodding in agreement to the other's "You should have known better, Nuno". Duh.
Rating: Summary: A Fantastic Book for Receiving Spiritual Guidance! Review: This book has been a major blessing in my life. I learned how to receive spiritual guidance by utilizing the information contained in "Divine Guidance," and it helped me understand the psychic experiences I already had. Doreen spells out in an easy-to-follow manner how anyone can receive spiritual guidance from God and the angels. Furthermore, it gives a great overview of how to know when you truly are receiving guidance from heaven, or if it is from your fear-based lower self. I have recommended this book to literally hundreds of people over the last few years, and I am so grateful to Doreen for writing it. It truly helps people understand how to know when they are receiving higher guidance, and helps them heal and improve their lives. It is completely non-denominational, and is applicable to anyone regardless of religious or spiritual background/preference. If you are looking for a way to receive heaven's help, Divine Guidance will certainly be a blessing in your life as well!

Rating: Summary: Divine guidance led me to this book Review: This book is an answer to my prayers. Written in simple, lay-people's terms, Doreen Virtue writes about the unlimited inspiration and transcendence we have within us all. If anyone tells you that someone outside of yourself has all the answers and/or solutions to your problems, this book will discredit that belief. If you have doubts and fears about your own intuition and conscience, this book will dispel that as well.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Review: This book was my first introduction to Doreen's books and the subject of Angels....and it was wonderful. Very enlightening and well presented, it opened up a new world of possibilities to me. I have since purchased most of her books and audio books. I have found that in some cases the books are more comprehensive than the audio, however, the guided meditations on audio cannot be replaced by the books; so both work together very well. At the same time I was reading Doreen's Divine Guidance book, I was reading Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsh. These writings compliment each other very well and provide a comprehensive approach for those going within to find their truths. Doreen also has a website, angeltherapy.com, which offers additional information. I am sorry to hear that she is no longer doing angel readings, for I would be first in line!
