Summary: Excellent book, full of information
Review: I have an older version of this book. I followed the excercises with my first pregnancy back in 1988. The illustrations are easy to follow. There are tips on how to relax and the breathing is better than lamaze in my opinion. I would highly recommend this book for filling your pregnancy with good thoughts and relaxation.

Summary: A Wonderful Book, A Wonderful Person
Review: Positive Pregnancy Fitness is the best prenatal/ labor preparedness book I have had the pleasure to read. Sylvia's manner is wonderful, and her directionss are easy to follow. By utilizing the exercises and meditations contained within, as well as her guided breaths and hand movements, I had a wonderfully easy labor (six hours of labor and nine minutes of pushing!) Everyone with whom I have spoken, having used the Positive Pregnancy Fitness program, has had similar experiences.

We all miss Sylvia, and the light that she let shine forth. She passed away in April, 1997, after more than a decade of fighting Myasthenia Gravis, a rare neuromuscular disease. I am happy to have known her, and proud to be her daughter-in-law.

Summary: Simply the best
Review: This book is simply the best book about taking care of oneself during and after pregnancy.

The author's view of "fitness" is heavily influenced by yoga, so it includes gentle exercise, nutrition, and lots of common sense. The emphasis is on how the pregnant woman can take care of herself, and not on how to turn to medical practitioners unless specifically needed. The information is well-organized, the writing is clear, pictures and diagrams are used appropriately.

For the past seven years, I have been recommending this book to all pregnant women who ask for my advice. I'm delighted to have a chance to review it on Amazon!
