Summary: Very Informative!
Review: This is a great book. I am amazed at the great variety of foods one can eat. What is especially great about this book is the knowledgeable information that helps you to know what you're eating and what it will do for your body. It has made me look at foods in an entirely new way. There are food charts so that you can quickly look at nutrients that specific foods provide. There is detailed information about the nutritonal properties found in foods. This book doesn't tell you necessarily WHAT to eat, but rather helps you make informed decisions about WHY you would want to eat certain foods. When you know how foods benefit your body, you will be much more likely to eat with purpose and make better choices.

The only downfall of this book is that there is no glossary in the back of the book which would make it easier to find information quickly. For instance, if you were wanting to review a certain nutrient and it's benefit, you have to do a bit of thumbing around throughout the book to retrieve the information. Even still, this book is worth its weight in gold (and then some) for the information it contains. I only knew of a couple of nutrients before reading this book and now realize I only saw the "tip of the iceberg". There are twenty one nutrients noted in this book, most of which I had never even heard of.

If you're tired of fad dieting and want to eat sensibly, with purpose and profit to your body, then I would recommend this read.
