Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This is a very good book to lead you through self esteem problems. In fact - this is the best book I've read on that issue!
Rating: Summary: Essence of Self-Esteem : Distilled and Served Review: This is the one of the best books I have ever read on the topic of self -esteem or self-worth; it captures the essence right down to the bolts and nuts. Unlike other books this book is based on the belief systems or to be precise based on changing our existing flawed belief system. The book is comprehensive, it tells you how to read the book, how the book is organized, provides you with a checklist or a quiz both before you start and after you've read the book, so you can measure your progress, the book also provides simple exercises that you can embark on, has affirmations to help you strengthen your new belief system, it also has a list of several other books for further reading. The book is very simple and elegant, very easy to read, the chapters are presented with great clarity and each chapter is very well balanced in the sense that there is nothing extra, not even a sentence more than what's required to drive the point. So, you should read it very carefully because each sentence matters. It's obvious that the author has spent a life-time researching the topic of self-esteem and what he offers is profound, deep and life-changing. Ultimately, as the author suggests the value of this book is up to you to extract, since it's knowledge applied, you need to read this and apply the new found knowledge in your personal life. It will take time and effort and you can choose the topic or chapter that you want to focus on or improve on depending on your situation one at a time. I would recommend this book to anyone, don't even think about it (this book after you buy it will make you think; long and hard anyway), just buy it. It will make an excellent gift also. My other favorite book on self-esteem is from "Nathaniel Branden" titled "How to Raise Your Self-Esteem". If you could, buy this book also.
Rating: Summary: Guide to life Review: Underrated. The definite How-To to life. Goes beyond self-esteem and into how you can [choose to] be happy NOW. To the point and with valuable examples. Beware, you have to take responsibility for your life and actions and accept that stuff happens and will continue to do so. This book will set you on a path of freedom. Not easy at times, but it's the best thing having a choice. Read also Total Self-Confidence by Dr.Robert Anthony and The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden.
