Rating: Summary: She does it again!! Review: Awakening through the Tears is Cath's 3rd book in the trilogy of IC books. This book takes dealing w/ IC to a deeper level. Anyone who has ever dealt w/ IC and IC-related symptoms has most likely asked the questions, "why me", "what did I do to deserve this", etc. If you're looking for the meaning of IC, this book really helps to understand how the mind, body and spirit are not only connected w/ IC, but w/ other illnesses, as well as any life events we are experiencing. This book helped me to understand my role and responsibility in both IC and in other areas of my life as well. Cath touches upon the spirituality aspect of recovery which many people do not have the courage enough to do. My views have certainly changed for the better since reading this book. I would recommend this book to all IC patients as well as anyone looking to find a deeper meaning as to why things happen in our lives. This is a wonderful compliment to the other books Cath has written and helps to come full circle w/ IC.
Rating: Summary: There is Hope and From A Different Point of View Review: Being diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis and feeling completely alone in a world where no one understands your pain, grief, and fear Catherine Simone provides hope and friendship through her writing. In her third book Awakening Through The Tears she leads you through her story of how she "healed the rest of the way". Unlike in her first two books Simone goes into great detail regarding the mind/body/spirit relationship to IC and the hormone connection, both of which led to her healing. Due to Simone's honesty and desire for IC sufferers to learn from her experience, I feel as if so many of the "mysteries" of my body have been revealed to me. This book has also provided my husband, friends, and family with a vivid picture of what it is like to live through IC. With all that I have learned from Awakening Through The Tears, I now have hope that I too will be "healed the rest of the way" with my Interstitial Cystitis.

Catherine Simone's book, Awakening Through The Tears, is one that should not only be read by those who suffer from Interstitial Cystitis, but also by their family members. I am one of those "family members". My wife has been struggling with IC for the past year and we have felt as if we are totally alone. Nobody seemed to understand what it is like to live each day with IC. Simone's third book completes her series and certainly offers hope for those who have Interstitial Cystitis and to their family members. This book is a must for anyone who has IC or who knows someone who is suffering through this disease.

Rating: Summary: Message of Hope Review: Catherine Simone has outdone herself in her third book, making it THE book to read, not only if you have IC, but any disease that requires strong fortitude and hope to overcome. The book is filled with personal examples of her own story as well as general suggestions for others to build upon and use in their own situations. Truly a story of love, courage, tenacity, and finally, WELLNESS. You won't regret purchasing this one.

Rating: Summary: coming full circle in understanding IC Review: Catherine Simone's third book on her experience with interstitial cystitis (IC) focuses on the connection between our thoughts, emotions, spirit and the physical symptoms of IC. The physical symptoms which plague IC patients are often the only thing looked at by doctors and patients, but they are only part of the picture, and Catherine shows, through her own experiences, that much more is involved. She also discusses additional physical factors involved in IC based on insights she has gained, and her own experience, since writing her first 2 books. Catherine's writing has the ring of truth to it, and she writes with compassion, humility and sincerity in a down-to-earth, easily understood style. Her concern and caring for IC patients shines through. She never tries to dictate what someone else should do, but merely shares her own experiences as well as medical facts about the body; these facts are documented and footnoted. This book is fascinating for the way it looks at the person and their illness as a "whole" and for the thought-provoking associations it makes. I got a lot out of this book and it gave me lots of new things to think about. I'm anxious to read it again, and highly recommend it. Catherine's three books together provide a comprehensive study of IC and, most importantly, how she overcame it. No IC patient or close family member/friend should be without Catherine's three books. People, this is the way out...
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING Review: Catherine totally out did herself with this book, if that was at all possible. With this book, you will learn things about your body and I.C. that you never would have imagined were connected. I think all will thoroughly enjoy this book. Catherine has a true gift of understanding what an ICer goes through.

Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS A TRUE INSPIRATION..... Review: This book is by far my favorite of the 3 that Catherine has written (and the other 2 were wonderful). Anyone searching for any kind of meaning to their suffering, illness or life for that matter, should read this book. I really have to applaud her for writing this book because it is not easy to put the TRUTH out there sometimes. Healing will come, and come so much faster, when we understand the mind/body/spirit connection and this book was written to really 'wake us up' to that connection. This book is truly inspiring and has touched my heart so deeply. When I am feeling alone, anxious and afraid I pick this book up and it reminds me of my true spirit, of my power, of the Love and I know with 100% certainty that everything is going to be alright. I will put this book up along side my other favorite spiritual books and other favorite authors. I am so thankful this book, as well as the 2 other by the author, has come into my life.
Rating: Summary: A must read to open your eyes to all aspects of IC. Review: Well, Cathy Simone has done it again. She has just finished her third book about IC and its many aspects, titled "Awakening Through The Tears: Interstitial Cystitis and the Mind/Body/Spirit Connection." I was fortunate enough to read an advanced copy of this book and to tell you that it is enlightening, wonderful and a book that all IC patients need to read is putting it mildly. Most of the book hit me right between the eyes. I could see myself in all aspects of the book and many of you may do the same. In this book, Cathy patiently writes to us telling us how to connect the dots, how to go about working on all aspects of or beings. As usual, she does a great job of relaying her feelings on these matters to us. It is a book that I will cherish forever and I hope you give it a chance in your life to make a huge diffrence in the way you see your IC and how it affects our entire being. Barbra Willis
