Summary: Fashion tips that can save your life
Review: By reading this little book you can find answers to your most simple and/or the hardest styling questions. How to make my hips look sharp? What should I wear to a job interview? And for a promotion? Oh, my, I am a petite, what flatters the most my figure? Those are questions that you will certainly find an answer for in Kimberly's book. Of course that this is just a warm up. By reading it, you will step into a more stylish you. Be sure about that.

Summary: Books like this are why so many people dress WRONG!
Review: First off, this is not a book on building a wardrobe wisely. This is simply a book to give you ideas and guidelines for outfits to wear on specific occasions.

Unfortunately, the guidelines provided are wrong. When the author advised that it was OK to wear black or white to a wedding, I was willing to concede that standards have changed in this area, and that I am very traditional in thinking that black or white is offensive at a wedding. However, when the author stated that formal dress for women includes dresses above the knees (i.e., cocktail dresses), I quit reading the book. How can I trust advice from someone who doesn't know that formal dress for women means wearing a full-length gown? Her definition of "white tie" is way off the mark. And taking her advice on casual workday dress could end your career prematurely.

This is a helpful "idea" book for adding pizazz to your outfits, but if you need advice on dressing well for a certain occasion, look elsewhere.

Summary: Books like this are why so many people dress WRONG!
Review: I love this book's direct-to-the-point and cool approach in providing ideas on what appropriate attire to don in different situations such as (but not limited to) weddings, reunions, public appearance, parties of all kinds, and even non-parties, such as deaths/funerals. It suggests clothing combos, from tops to bottoms to footwear to accessories that help you stay "attuned" to the occasion/gathering that you are a part of without constricting your personal tastes. The book also contains some helpful hints on figure flattery and image change (should you want one). Handy guide to most young adult women, if you ask me.

Summary: Decent advise, but no photos
Review: I'm always suspicious of a book on fashion that doesn't have any photographs, and cartoonish drawings just don't cut it for me. I will admit that the author has a sense of humor and that having the chapters divided by weather condition and/or fashion situation is useful. However,......the advice contained within the book is not really worth more than a skim at the bookstore or a checkout from the library. Most of the advice you've probably heard before, but the author organizes the information in an easily accessible way. Therefore, I would recommend this book to fashion novices. However, for those of you who are fashion junkies like me, I would skip this book.
