Review: As a makeup novice, I found this book helpful and certainly have gotten lots of compliments when I apply the rules I learned here. Her makeup tips are easy to follow and her emphasis on a fundamentally natural look and largely simple applications makes this easy for almost anybody to pick up at least a few tips. I gave the book high marks because I personally got at least ten new pieces of information that I've been able to use, and that's not too bad!

That being said, as another pale, freckled, German/Irish-extraction woman in her thirties, I think I got more out of this book than many users. Morgan is really talking about her own makeup regimen, and doesn't have much to offer women of color, or darker-skinned white women either.

Also, gratuitous sections written by some doctor she works with, are a complete re-tread of advice you'll get in any women's magazine at least three times a year (stay out of the sun, drink lots of water, exercise, you are what you eat -- there, now you can skip all the parts he wrote).

Finally, I would have appreciated some more specific advice on purchasing makeup -- or, at least, more relevant to the labelling at the makeup counter. She makes much hay about noncomedogenic and other such designations, but having gone to the department store AND the health-food-store with a shopping list generated from the book's guidelines, I had no luck finding products with the kinds of chemical-mix attributes she recommends. The cosmetic companies don't market using her terminology. It would have been a better book with more of this kind of specific guidance. I do, however, applaud her for not selling out to a particular brand and recommending all their products.

Review: I am SO glad that I ordered your book!! It's very easy to follow, and the tips are incredibly simple! (who would of EVER thought that Preparation H would work for puffy eyes! It's a miracle!) Thanks for helping a 40 year old look 25 again!! (well,okay... maybe 30.)

Review: I don't own the book, yet, but I am familiar with Morgen's makeup and skincare tips and have found them very helpful. I love the natural look that she promotes. If you do, too, you may want to try some of her cosmetic products. You can find them on hsn.com. They are affordably priced and so very flattering. Just a little tip for those trying to simplify but still enhance their makeup routine. Good luck!

Review: I first saw this book in my agents office, later I purchased it for myself and I'm glad I did. It offers tips on fuller lips, more sensuous eye, more prominent cheekbones and complete makeover advise. The book includes good advise on nutrition, exercise, hair, and dress and it caters to women from all walks of life, from models to moms, teenagers to seniors, women of all colors and sizes. It has lots of before and after pictures. The book is well written and easy to read. I live in California and I'm always in the sun. This book will certainly help me protect my face against the suns rays. It's a good book and I highly recommend it to all women.

Review: I have seen Morgen Schick's lovely face in fashion magazines countless times and when I heard that she had written a makeup book and launched a makeup line I thought it was just another industry insider trying to cash in. However, I was soooooo wrong! I bought her book last year and found it to be so informative and easy to follow. I thought I knew everything about makeup application, but this book taught me a few things. Morgen shows us how to look natural and glowing without looking madeup. With this book you can look great for every occasion without people noticing all your makeup. I've also tried Morgen's makeup and skin care line that she sells on TV and the products are user friendly just like the book. Buy this book, even if you've been applying your own makeup for decades. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the simple advice that can make you look brand new. I'll be buying several more copies this year for gift giving.

Review: Morgen Schick is a no-nonsense makeup guru. I don't wear makeup, I am fifteen years old and a model myself(Models aren't perfect, airbrushing is, hehe). For nearly the last five years I have worn sunscreen everyday (I have missed here and there) even in the winter, and have kept my naturally milky white skin in tact (The doctor stresses this, as does everyone but that was an example just to show you that everyone has time for taking care of themselves). The doctor's advice in this book is something you should listen to, even if you have heard it a million times before. I read this book and found great advice for my very curly hair, and fantastic little tips for any problem I have ran into. Morgen doesn't give specifics on who to buy makeup from, but she does have a mkaeup and skin care line on HSN.Morgen believes in no makeup makeup. Basically, NO FOUNDATION, which is good because I've never worn the stuff and every makeup look out there you look unfinished without everything on you. I recently bought a kit from her, she is very reasonable, and it gives great coverage on pimples and such, as well as an awesome thing called the Schick Stick, which is a lip and cheek stain to really does last all day. Her lip balm is really great too, it keeps your lips pouty and soft, even my 49 year-old mom wears it. Since thats all I wear, I can't comment on the rest, but everything I have recieved has come in great packaging, a great texture, and a range of colors in light so I can mix for myself. Her skin tones come in light, medium ,and dark, and have different tones in each set for the perfect match. Her makeup isn't conventional, but It lets you keep a clean face, look great, and only fix the problems, and still look finished. It is for any age, and has great formulations I have never seen elsewhere.

Review: My mother doesn't wear makeup and I didn't have an older sister to show me how to apply makeup so this book was just what I had been looking for. I have tried makeup tricks from magazines and other beauty books but it never came out the way it looked in the picture. The photos in "Your Makeover" are not touched up/ digitally enhanced... What you see is what you get! If you are beyond the basics and a little more playful with your makeup then perhaps this isn't the book for you but you never know...you may be doing something wrong!

Review: What a great book for those of us who aren't blessed with perfect anything! I found this book to have simple and helpful tips that are written for my level of experience. The photos help me learn how to apply makeup, since I don't normally take the time to do it. I've learned how to make simple changes in my hair and face that totally change the way I look, with minimal effort. People may confuse the clearly written advice as being oversimplified, but for the make-up un-sophisticated woman like me, you'll find them refreshingly easy to follow! Thanks Ms. DeMann!

Review: YOUR MAKEOVER is an attractive book bound in a useable three-ring like binding. The photos are good, and like the author says, not retouched, which is encouraging. Before and after pictures are shown, and the models are not all of the Cosmo-cover variety (but they do all look beautiful in the "after" stage).

DeMann's style is very engaging, and her prose is levelheaded as well as observant. Her tips are factual and helpful, and this book is clearly not designed to give anyone an inferiority complex but instead, to help build self-esteem while teaching to enhance your natural assets.

The information in this book could not possibly be outdated because DeMann's core philosophy is that the person and not the makeup should be the focus. Therefore, most of the tips in the book are aimed at the natural look, which can never be outdated.

Bottom line: useful book written in an engaging style with many attractive photos. Definitely user-friendly.
