Rating: Summary: Build your collection around this book! Review: James Green has created an exhaustive index of herbs in a book I've gone back to hundreds of times. Very readable and down-to-earth, James combines good science with great advice. Includes much information of male-specific maladies (e.g. prostate) and insights into lifestyles that contribute to problems. Many recipies for daily herbal health-maintanance are tried and true. Simply the best and my personal favorite.
Rating: Summary: One Stop Shopping on Herbs Specific for Men Review: The sub-title for this book is "Herb Care for Men & Boys" but the book does far more than this. Its is an excellent source of information about specific ailments afflicting men and what can be done about them. His style of writing is most enjoyable as the topics, herbal suggestions with recipes, and use of technical herbal terminology is presented in a real home-style fashion. Reading it made me think of an old friend who was giving good natured advice to me. There are sections on how to pick the right herb, how to prepare the herbs (infusion, decoction, etc), on Wholistic way of life vs Allopathic MD treatments, a pictoral glossary of the herbs, informative glossary, and wonderful folklore & herbal recipes for most every male complaint. There is so much no available on "women's" complaints & herbal treatments, but so very little on the male counterpart.
