Rating: 1 stars
Summary: A waste of money
Review: I would say that all the information in this booklet can be boiled down to the idea that you are responsible for how you respond to other people - other people cannot 'make' you angry, resentful, miserable, depressed, bored, suck your energy - you have a choice in how you respond to them, decide not to respond or answer a question, or walk away. Basically, if someone is difficult to be with, you can politely resist being drawn in by them, or you can walk away. That's it.

For helpful techniques for recognizing how you react to other people and situations in ways that hurt yourself, and then learning healthier happier habits, I would recommend the book Feeling Good, which is another cheap paperback but much more insightful!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Short But Very Useful
Review: This book is very short; 16 (sixteen) pages.

It is also very useful; and worth the full cover price ($4.95) based on useful content.

But to be clear, it is closer to what many people would think of as a booklet. It is the common 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch size, but does not have a flat out spine like a perfect-bound paperback. Rather it is stapled, as are most booklets without enough pages for a spine.

13 types of difficult people are described. And following each description is a "response," suggesting how to respond to such a person.

Some of the types of people are:

The Gloom and Doomer
The Intimidator
The Energy Thief
Mr. Obnoxious
The Criticizer

and 8 others.

The descriptions are accurate. The suggested responses are insightful and useful.

Small and useful is better than big and useless. So as long as you realize that this book is small, as described above, you shouldn't be disappointed, because the content is really that good.
