Rating: Summary: One of the most important books I've ever read. Review: If you have cancer, even in it's very late stages, PLEASE read this book! And if you don't, and want to make sure things stay that way, and in addition want to feel healthier and happier, read it! This is unlike most books on health that I've read and flipped through, in that it is really entirely based on scientific research done all over the world for the last three hundred years or so, and all of it points in the same direction. At the same time, although of course books like this are generally biased, it really shows different sides of the issue from a lot of different sources, and is NOT pushing the reader to BUY anything else. The author simply states the different viewpoints, and leaves it up to the reader to decide for him or herself. The author has the ability to present it to the reader in an easy to understand fashion, but he doesn't skimp on the important details, either. Reading this book has really changed my views of eating and health. I mean, I always knew that fat is 'bad', salt is 'bad', and that eating fruits and vegetables fresh was good, but I never REALLY understood EXACTLY WHY. This book explained everything to me so clearly, that now, even though I love pizza and chocolate and lots of other junk food, I am willing to take it out of my diet basically for the rest of my life, because of the amazing benefits it seems a change of diet can create. I am looking forward to a much happier and healthier life now. Of course, this book isn't the only thing one should read when deciding to make changes to lifestyle, but it gives a really good base of knowledge to then spring off and learn more from. I found Horne's book by chance, used, in a little book store in Prague. I wish I'd found it as soon as it was written.
Rating: Summary: Compulsory reading for anyone affected by cancer Review: In this book Ross Horne condemns the orthodox medical management of cancer for the ignorant foolishness it is by presenting a logical and easy-to-follow rationale for the use of raw food and juices in preventing and treating cancer. His sources and references are impeccable and by the end of the book no thinking person could reasonably have any argument with what he has to say. If you have cancer or know someone who has, you absolutely must buy this book. Even if you don't you should still buy it - I guarantee your views on doctors and Western medicine will be changed irreversibly.
Rating: Summary: Highly recommended Review: The author claims that all cancers are caused by a thickening of the blood caused by excess fat in the diet. He says this reduces the oxygen flow to the cells, leading to cancerous growth. To stop this, he recommends a diet based almost entirely on raw fruit. Although some scientists would quarrel with his explanation about the causes of cancer, it is certainly true that a fruit-based diet significantly reduces the viscosity of the blood. Moreover, there is strong evidence that a vegan diet strongly reduces the indicence of cancer. For example, the Oxford-Cornell-China study examined the incidence of various types of cancer in villages all over rural China. The study showed that cancer and heart disease, the two biggest killers in Western countries, are very rare diseases in rural China, where people eat little or no animal protein. In addition, there was a strong link between the diet in different villages and the incidence of different types of cancer. This book is highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: ESSENTIAL! Review: This book just blows the covers off the lies that have kept millions sick and dying. Using many prominent and relevent researchers of the cancer feild, Ross Horne shares truths that will help you to prevent or defeat any illness. If you understand the basic principles of this information you never have to fear disease again- unless you disregard it. This book could be retitled " DISEASE PROOF YOUR BODY ! "
