Summary: Love this book.
Review: i bought this book a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with it. Not only the poses and discussion about yoga itself, but the many meditations (something i am horrible at, and really need in my life) and the recipes-they all sound fabulous, i don't know which to try first.

i enjoy the personal stories included in the book-they remind me that even imperfect people like me can do better with yoga and caring for oneself. There is only one pose that i can't seem to get from the description, but overall, she is fabulous at explaining each pose or meditation.

Aside from the information, the book is well written, with a personal, caring voice and is just beautiful. Personally, i recommend it.

Summary: User Friendly and Personal
Review: I love this women's yoga book. I truly enjoyed the combination of hatha yoga and kundalini yoga, the recipes and the meditations. I especially like the conversational and "personal touch" which makes this book both informative and "intimate". It's like practicing with a group of friends who are sharing instead of just lecturing.

Summary: A perfect yoga book!
Review: I've wanted to have this book since I saw it in Amazon.com. Then when I went to a bookstore in Sydney, I saw it, open it, and fell in love with it. Then I bought it, and in the middle of winter night read and practiced some of the movements. I felt this familiar tranquility and stillness and I realised... I've found my book of yoga...

So important this book for me that I decided to order one for my friends in my ashram in Indonesia. So that many more women will be blessed knowing their own bodies and minds, and eventually overcome them to be with the Oneness.

Summary: Yoga for Women by Shakta Kaur Khalsa
Review: This book is like having a wise friend and yoga teacher nearby at all times. There are yoga sets to complement all phases of a woman's life and to nurture her along the way. A great feature of the book is that there are options within the sets, so no matter what my available time frame is, I always find a nourishing practice. To optimize the benefits, I highly recommend accompanying the text with the CD, "Women's Yoga Music," compiled by Shakta Kaur Khalsa. Shakta references this companion CD in many of the beautiful meditations and practices in the book. I find this brings such depth to the "at home" yoga experience. From the bottom of my heart, I recommend this book to all women!

Summary: Yoga for Women
Review: When I saw "Yoga for Women" for sale, I had to buy it immediately! This is the second book I've bought by Shakta Kaur Khalsa (the first was Kundalini Yoga -- also fantastic!).

I knew it would be high quality not only because it is published by DK (well-known for its beautiful photography, layout, and design) but because it is written by such a gifted writer!

Shakta has such a beautiful, lyrical, poetic way of expressing her deep well of knowledge about yoga.

This book is so rich in wonderful healing, energizing, and nurturing activities. It is incredibly beautiful and inspiring. I literally felt better just reading it, even before I did any of the very accessible and effective "kriyas" (exercises).

There's also a great section on yoga for relationships!

This book would make a perfect gift for anyone who is interested in learning about yoga in a clear, uplifting, meaningful way.

Thank you, Shakta, for blessing us with the beauty of your soul!
