Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great non-pathological information on personality!
Review: This book is written primarily for psychotherapists, and it
provides a rich framework for understanding personality in a non-pathological way. If you're tired of the limitations imposed by a DSM understanding of personality, and have come to the conclusion that the medical model only goes so far, then this is the book for you. Although the book has multiple layers of understanding, therapists not familiar with the model can fairly quickly assimilate practical suggestions to use with specific clients, as well as develop a deeper understanding of personality development. I have found that clients have much appreciated information I have shared with them, and have used the information to make changes for the better in their lives. If you're not a psychotherapist, this book, as well as the authors previous book TA Today,is well worth reading to see what the possibilities are for positive change.
The information in this book on personality development has the potential to renew psychotherpists commitment to helping clients change--a much needed breath of fresh air!
