Summary: The Voices of Aromatherapy
Review: Bound to become a timeless classic in the field of aromatherapy The World of Aromatherapy is a beautiful treasure to have.

Among the many noted contributing authors are Jeanne Rose, Valerie Worwood, Shirley Price, Victoria Edwards, and Mindy Green to name a few. The book covers a wide variety of subjects~ distillation, hydrosols, the science of essential oils, case studies, botany, skin care, perfumery, pregnancy and essential oil profiles among other subjects. There is also an interesting chapter on Synthetic vs. natural oils as well as a beautiful chapter titled: Bathing in the Souls of Flowers.

A great addition to any aromatherapy library.

Summary: THE WORLD OF AROMATHERAPY/jeanne rose
Review: I found this collection of essays by 35 of the best known names/teachers in aromatherapy to be excellent. Here is information written with verve and style about distillation, hydrosols, aromatic chemistry, botany, ancient Egyptian embalming with essential oils and unguents. A fabulous skin care chapter is followed by a delicious essay by Barbara Bobo 'bathing in the souls of flowers', there is an entire section on nurturing yourself through pregnancy with essential oils and how to take care of children with the correct essential oils. How can you miss the blending essential oils for personal perfumery or the culinary part, teaches how to use essential oils to flavor and fragrance foods. The oilss themselves are mentioned and several important case studies using the essences are included. There is a great section on business and research for those who want to start an aromatic business and do aromatherapy consultations. And lastly, a 14 year old high school student shows you how to set up an aromatherapy project to proove or disprove that it works. And of course there is a great source list and bibliography. Jeanne Rose is fantastic, her co-editor too. This is a great book.
