Summary: Whatever Caused You To Be Here -- Don't Lose That!
Review: Five years ago, I was fortunate to come across this very empowering and life-changing book "Live Your Dreams." Having been in an unhealthy relationship and without clear direction in my life, Les Brown's message entered my life at the perfect time. His book gave me hope and a renewed sense of purpose. It helped me develop the courage to go after my dreams relentlessly!

Shortly after reading this book, I attended a seminar hosted by Les in Washington, D.C. He told the audience, "Whatever caused you to be here tonight -- don't lose that!" Les inspired me to become a motivational speaker and to write a book to change people's lives. A few years later, Les agreed to write the Foreword to my book -- icing on the cake for me!

Anyone who is struggling through tough times will benefit from this inspiring and thought-provoking book. Les speaks from the heart, and writes from the depths of his soul. He is a master motivator who reminds us that "It's Possible" to live our dreams, no matter what our current circumstances may be.

Thank you, Les. You've changed my life and the lives of countless people around the world!

Summary: "You Gotta Be Greedy!"
Review: Les Brown has been a favorite of mine for years. His consistent style and common sense approach to motivating readers to take action is what makes him so popular. This book "Live Your Dreams" takes you from your current situation (no matter what or where it may be) and shows you that it is possible, it is achievable and it will be worth it.

You just can't go wrong with this book.

Summary: Good News for Modern Man
Review: Les Brown is a great motivator. His writing style is easy to read and right to the point. Les has an interesting background, coming from poverty and literally pulling himself up by the bootstraps to achieve success as a state legislature, disc jockey, and motivational speaker/writer.

Les wraps each of his lessons into stories of actual people who have demonstrated the feasibility of his theories for success. His message throughout is to "take control of your life," and "say Yes to life." This book was written in 1992 but is timeless. His stories and lessons are not specific to any industry, business, or religious beliefs, and would be suitable for any reader--young adults included.

Summary: OK book
Review: Lots of catchy buzz words, maybe some interesting personal experiences, but not much how-to stuff here. Anyone looking for inspiration would be pretty much better off reading something by Zig Ziglar.

Summary: Les Brown Thank You For Your Direction
Review: Thank you Mr Brown. As an African-Caribbean woman I could relate to what your book is saying.Sometimes people don't understand that you 'just can't snap out of circumstances'. Only he who lives the life can be honest enough to then put his experiences into writing thus helping others who are 'too far gone'.I was one of those people but know I have become 'unstuck' and am living my life as it should be ....motivated and full. This book is one of the books that has HONESTLY changed my life.Thank you once again and I wish you would come back to my island Barbados to share your lifes work with us.I HIGHLY recommend this book ...a life changer ...guaranteed

Summary: Give your life a boost!
Review: This is a great book for anyone who is feeling down or unmotivated and need a good boost. I've read many motivational books, this is probably the best one. Les Brown is not only a talented speaker but a very good writer as well. You won't be bored for a second while reading this book. What makes it an interesting read is that he always incorporate some of his personal stories with each lesson he preaches.

Here are some memorable teachings I treasure:

-Always set goals. For today. For this week. For this month. For 3 months. For this year. For 5 years...

-The only thing that can really stop you from living your dreams is you.

-Whatever you have done up to this point is a reflection of what you believe you deserve and what you believe is possible for your life.

-People with limited visions of themselves can not possibly have a larger vision of you.

-Don't operate on the basis of what you see. Operate on the basis of the possibilities you envisioned.

I saved the best ones for last:

-Rule #1: Don't sweat the small stuff, Rule #2: It is all small stuff

-More important than anything else is the choice of our attitude. Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

-In the end, it is the person you become not the things you achieve, that is most important.
