Summary: God has a simple and beautiful plan for your life!
Review: By the time I got to page 47 of this book, I was weeping because I knew I was finally FREE. I've been overweight for 10 years (240 lbs) and had tried every diet known to mankind. I always gained it back and more. God makes this so easy, it's almost too good to be true. I've learned to listen to my body and got a great side benefit - a closer relationship with God! And needless to say, my family is thrilled. Thank you Diane - your book will help thousands who lost all hope.

Summary: Freedom, Freedom, Freedom!
Review: Give up dieting forever! I have and I am now losing weight eating anything, yes anything, I want. Can you imagine eating anything you want and not being frightened? This is the book that will set you free, this is the book you need. Has it struck you that dieting is unnatural? Don't eat this, don't eat that, count this, count that, measure this, measure that, I can't have this, and I can't have that, ad nauseum. Which diet guru are you going to believe? Can you reall stay with a low-carb diet or a high-carb diet or calorie counting the rest of your life? Most importantly, do you want to stick to a restricted diet the rest of your life? The first day of my new eating pattern I ate two meals. The second day, I woke up with no hunger, no reactive hypoglycemia (nausea and shakes from hunger)! What a miracle. I have shifted to an apple for lunch and anything I want for dinner (I love to cook and desire to eat with my family). At maintenance, I may end up eating two meals a day; I don't know and it certainly isn't something to "worry" about. The diet gurus that say one meal will cause you to overeat later, etc., are wrong, wrong, wrong. Maybe it sounds theoretically correct, but it does not work that way. Listen, I have found out the less you eat, the less you eat. I do eat to satisfaction at dinner and it does not stretch my stomach. By the way, Dr. Dean Edell stated on his radio show that he only eats one meal a day himself. He says there is NO scientific proof that X number of meals are better than one. Also, I want you dear readers to know that I have four friends who are "naturally" slim (adult women - 30's and 40's). Two of them eat a small amount for lunch (like a small hamburger) and a good dinner (they are sizes 3 and 6). One gal eats at 2:30 PM, a huge amount, and a snack at night (she is size 7). One gal does nibble all day, like a potato chip here and there (no thank you, personally). Oh, and a relative who is size 4 eats breakfast and dinner, never lunch. Remember my comeback for sabotagers: "Slim people don't need much food, even if we exercise. Who says a certain number of meals a day are better than one or two?" The only negative thing I have to say about Diane's book is that I felt she took scripture out of context. God fed the Israelites manna 2X a day; they were supernaturally filled and nourished. He does not feed anyone manna today. Also, biblical gluttony is not overeating (I do believe a lifestyle of overeating is sin, but not gluttony). Biblical gluttony refers to the Roman-type parties where people overate, overdrank and went on to commit more sin. On the positive side, I do believe Diane tries steer away from legalism and authoritarianism. This book is an answer to prayer. You won't be sorry if you buy this book.

Summary: The Diet Alternative
Review: Hello, I have been dieting for the last 30 years. In that time, I bought all the latest diet books and never kept my weight where I wanted it to be. "The Diet Alternative" is the only book you will ever need to lose weight. It is simply the best even for non-christians.It goes to the core of the matter, the real reason why we are eating as a recreational pass time. You may not agree with everything but try it any way, it really works. Good luck, Teresa

Summary: Awesome truth!!
Review: I found this book to be incredible and do~able. It put the reality of the problem in perspective and addresses the 'heart matter' versus the 'diet solution'.

The nice thing is....because it is NOT A DIET....you CAN'T FAIL!

If you have been struggling with weight and you truly want to be set free from ever having to deal with the diet issue ever again.. buy it, read it, do it and buy a few for friends.

I believe this was God inspired truth and it is much easier reading and quicker than the Weigh Down Workshop. It just gets right to the point and cuts right to the marrow.

It will also increase the quality of your relationship with God because an incredible trust begins to grow and faith is being exercise on to victory. God meets us right we are if we are just willing.

Praise God....it is not just me....and I can be set free!

Summary: Update
Review: I just wanted to give an update on my progress. I cannot, with good conscience, support Diane's program any longer. I am currently weight training, doing cardio, and eating healthy. Eating healthy is not eating whatever you want. In 12 weeks, I brought my risk factor for heart disease down from 5.9:1 (which is horrible) to around 3 (which is nonexistent risk). I did it with exercise and eating right. I also lost two sizes with just a 12 pound scale loss because I was gaining muscle, too. To be healthy, you have to work at it! Sure, you can lose weight eating whatever you want if you eat less - at least up to a point. But who wants to be a skinny fat woman or a skinny fat man? Wouldn't you rather be healthy and have a fabulous physique? Try Body for Life by Bill Phillips. Also check out the www.bodybuilding.com website for inspiration, education, and good products.

Summary: I've never been so happy!
Review: I live in South Africa and have just picked up "The Diet Alternative" at a local bookshop. After reading the first 20-odd pages, I feel so inspired and filled with faith that my eating and weight problems can be overcome through Jesus Christ!

Summary: Freedom from overeating
Review: I read this book about 1 year ago and was very much impressed with the idea of gluttony and sin. This has been the biggest thing that has helped me to get on the road to normality again.
I lost 110 lbs - about 25 years ago through Overeaters Anony.
but did not keep it off. I am currently in a group now where the focus is on the Bibical approach and we will be using some of the material from her book in our class. Focusing on the obedience to God is the right way to go. This book has a lot going for it....Barbara

Summary: FINALLY!!!!!!!!
Review: Never have I read a book that not only gives a solution to the real problem, but I felt she was talking about me!!! Every example she gave was me talking....all the excuses...all the binges.....all the obsession. I HIGHLY recommend this book if you want true freedom from the disease of overeating. I have lost weight before on other things, sure they work, but do you keep it off? NO!!! Because food is still the obsession, and that is the light at the end of tunnel that I found in this book..I know realize that food is only here to keep us alive...not anything else!!! How much time I have wasted on what I was going and wanted to eat so badly when I could have been using this precious time for God. I have already begun my life long change and I know that it will continue with God's blessing. Thank you God, for allowing me to walk in the christian book store and find Diane's book(THE LAST ONE), and thank you, Diane, for writing it!!!!!
