Summary: Not work the paper it was printed on
Review: I don't know what this guys problem is. Is it martial arts that makes him feel good, or is it his obsessive blabbering about how great he is. the word conceded doesn't do it justice. I couldn't find one usefull fact in this book. A lot of hot air and Pseudo-Philosophical nonsense. He has no idea what he's talking about but he act like he does. He takes other's ideas and tweaks them a hair and thinks that he's just invented the wheel. I think everyone whose been burned by buying this book should chip in to buy him a wheel barrow so he can cart along that huge ego of his.

Read Bruce Lee: Words from a Master, you can get a used copy for a buck and is worth a million times more. Don't waste you like I did. Doesn't even make a good coaster to put your drink on.

Summary: Second hand Knowledge
Review: I read this book and to be honest I didn't know what to make of it. I found it to be very interesting and wanted to learn more. But how? I then found, to my surprise, one of Master Behrens students operating a dojo in my home town of Indianapolis. This was the finest dojo and instruction I have even been exposed to. I only was able to train there for a short while because of personal problems but if the teacher in Indy is any representation of Master Behrens, Im sure Master Behrens is as good as the book states.

Summary: This book stretches the mind of occult seekers of knowledge
Review: This book will charge with energy, those who search for new insights into the world of spirit and mind. It will surely offend and anger the "hard-science" adherents who need physical proof of all things. The question/answer format had a compelling nature to it, and places the reader in an inquisitive frame of mind...as if one was actually sitting down with an occult master.

I am a martial artist, and found his references to the martial arts and their relation to spiritual/occult matters quite true. His descriptions of the mind as having a "higher" and "lower" component echoes some of the most ancient spiritual principals, such as those embodied in the Huna religion of the South Pacific peoples. I would remind readers that virtually all religions embrace the quiet of meditation, and for what do they quiet this (lower mind tape) mind of ours? Could it be to allow a higher intelligence (higher mind tape) to come through to our consciousness? Richard Behrens speaks the truth.

The concept of Chi/Ki is quite true. If one follows the well-known breathing and meditation practices, (such as those outlined in this book) one can feel very real chi movement. Perhaps different for everyone, it manifests as heat and tingling sensations in my hands. If you are on the quest, read this book.

Summary: The best martial arts book ever written in english
Review: To fully understand this book, you must first know the man who wrote it. I myself was a long time student of Master Behrens. This Man brought me to the path. While reading the book I felt like I was sitting there in person with Master Behrens just like the old days. You may not agree with everything stated in this book but I can honestly say that what is written is this man's true beliefs. I had my differences with Master Behrens many years ago,but I must admit I learned alot from him and will never forget him.
