Rating: Summary: This works! Review: Everyone gets hung up on the peanut butter aspect of the book and doesn't pay attention to the overall content of the diet. It weans you off cheese, margarines, mayonnaises, white breads, sugar-all the things you need to cut way down on-and emphasizes fresh vegetables and fruit and small portions of meat. It works for diabetics as well. I had followed a low-fat diet for some time and my triglycerides were 379 (normal range is 30-200). After 28 days on this diet, my triglycerides went down to 116! All my cholestrol and glucose levels were reduced as well. I'm thrilled! The peanut butter helps you feel full and most of the recipes are really good. My main complaint is the way she keeps ending every section with a plug for the diet-ignore that because the information and advice is good.
Rating: Summary: HOW "NUTTY" CAN YOU GET? Review: For those who like peanut butter, I think there is still a little kid lurking inside us who still loves to wander into the kitchen for a midnight snack and... stick their finger in the jar when no one is looking!Personally, peanut butter has always been a favourite of mine but as for a peanut butter diet - that could add up to a lot of peanut butter. The recipes here do contain peanut butter but to their credit, the flavour of peanut butter is not always evident when combined with other ingredients. Clearly, however, the reader should make sure they do not have an allergy to nuts prior to trying this unique diet. The only negative aspect of the book was simply a matter of how much peanut butter one truly wants to eat, no matter what form it appears in. Yes, it may reduce cholesterol which can slash heart disease, but just how much is too much and what about those calories if peanut butter crops up everywhere? Overall, I did like the book for its original recipes and concepts; however, even though peanut butter is a favourite carried over from my youth, I would prefer the, long-term healthy eating advice contained in the book "Eat Right for Your Blood Type" over the diet contained in this book. For the most part, some of the recipes in the "Peanut Butter Diet" are really quite tasty but there are a few here I would prefer to feed to the squirrels!
Rating: Summary: Save your money Review: I purchased this book, not realizing "Prevention" books had decided to move into ... publishing. If you read the disclaimer, it says this diet is controversial, etc., etc. (shorthand for someone's theory on how things COULD maybe be). Whether you decide Adkins, Sugar Busters, Smart Women series, etc., this is so far off base, I'm sending it back. I thought Prevention magazine had a little more credibility.

Rating: Summary: Effective and Tasty:A good weightlifting diet Review: Monounsaturated fats..Peanut Butter simply tastes better than olive oil.. With peanut butter you get monounsaturated fat, omega 6 yes,but take some flax to balance it out, magnesium, arginine, protein ,fiber and other good things.. It tastes good has low sugar and NO trans fatty acids.. It does work at quelling the hunger a lot better than the refined carb diets that were a fad of the politically correct 80's and nineties.. Carbs take a perosn that is a "go-getter" and turns them into sedated "nice " person ,a lazier person more controllable by the establishment.. Think outside the box,go peanut butter!
Rating: Summary: Can you say Omega 6? Review: Now this is an unusual idea, eat something that you like every day with a high fat content and still lose weight. The funny thing about it is that the diet worked. I think it worked for me because after a few days I knew that I could eat a rich tasting food twice a day and not get hungry. Peanut butter filled me up. I stuck to the 1500 calorie a day diet instead of the higher calorie version for men. I liked the varied recipes but I didn't like the exotic ingredianrs of some of them. How many people carry Mango Chutney in their cupboard? Breaking down the menu according to amount of calories for all the meals would have been very helpful instead of just the recipe meals. Then it would of been much easier to mix and match different meals for the same day. Some of the recipes were too elaborate or had hard to find ingrediants. I went to three stores to find low sodium tomato soup! The meals were very healthy and included nine servings of fruits and vegetables a day. My basic criticism of the plan was the time needed to purchase and prepare some of the meals. I have to admit that being able to mix peanutbutter in chocolate pudding for an evening snack was a wonderful way of making you feel that this was not a diet. The bottom line is if you want to feel full and healthy give it a try.
Rating: Summary: Effective and Tasty:A good weightlifting diet Review: This is a great diet that includes a good amount of monounsaturated fats that keep you feeling full and satisfied. This plan works and there are charts how to substitute the peanut butter for other monounsaturated fats and create your own meal plan. This does work and I am proof.
