Summary: Inspirational!
Review: Art Berg owned his own company, received many awards, was president of the National Speaker's Association, and had even received a Super Bowl ring from the Baltimore Ravens because they credited his motivational speech to them as a driving force in their winning the championship in 2000. He was also married, with three children. These types of accomplishments would be a challenge for anyone. Art Berg did them after an automobile accident left him a quadriplegic at the age of 21.

The Impossible Just Takes a Little Longer, is the story of Berg's amazing journey. It starts with the doctors telling him he will never walk, work or take care of himself. Art Berg then recounts how he found courage in the face of fear and despair. It is a story of how his faith, family, and determination, moved him from victim to master. Inspirational is the only word that comes close to describing this work. The lessons that Berg shares are applicable to anyone who has ever had a challenge in their lives to overcome, whether it is big or small. This book is a must read!

Summary: Tony Robbins
Review: Don't bother reading this book. Tony Robbins is an EMOTIONAL
CHEERLEADER. Who says we're supposed to be happy and positive all the time. It is our inherent human right to feel miserable and negative as well. He's just another fanciful fad guru out
to capitalize on our social emotional paralyses.

Summary: A Must Read For Anyone Seeking Inspiration
Review: I am amazed that this guy could do what he did. He is an inspiration to all of us who think we have it bad. A quadraplegic who became a leading motivational speaker and traveled the country by himself. A guy who bounced back and teaches us that no challenge is too great. What a story. Every kid in America should have to read this and learn the lessons this guy teaches. The only tragedy is his early death last year. At least he gave us his lessons! Outstanding read!

At age 39 Art unexpectantly died -- the same month this book was released, leaving his young family -- this book is a powerful legacy to his three children and all of us!

Summary: More of the same old Self-Help advice
Review: One of my goals for this year is to read one book per week. I was looking forward to this book which I purchased last year. After all it has an endorsement from Tony Robbins prominently displayed across the cover.

Unfortunately it proved to be a big let down. I actually threw it in the trash at the Gym this morning after only 107 pages (there are about 200 total).

I guess there isn't anything wrong here. Art recounts in some details about his accident which left him a quadriplegic. Most of what he describes has been written about umpteen times before and in bettter detail. He draws upon the old self-help war chestnuts about Thomas Edison and boats flashing each other signals to turn until one figures out the other light is from a lighthouse.

The problem with this book is that it didn't catch my interest at all. I was expecting an introduction about Art's accident and recovery - then some concepts and tips about overcoming adversity. Instead there was simply 107 pages of how the doctors treated him. How hard it was to push a wheelchair. How he felt awkward maneuvering his home.

Now admittedly - my review would be off target and maybe interpreted as cruel if the book had been titled "How to recover from quadraplegia" --- but this book is billed as self-help and it is anything but. It's bland. Covers the same tired concepts - with very little enthusiasm or flair.

Unless you have recently experienced a paralyzing accident - I think you'll be left scratching your head as I did mid-way through the book.

Summary: Miracles Happen!!
Review: When I read this book, I was so overwhelmed with the courage and determination of Art Berg and tried to search more for his video/audio tapes on his motivational speeches... Art Berg lived in Utah with his wife and two kids.

The Impossible just takes a little longer imparts lessons about life, fear and passion. Berg recounts his harrowing and inspirational life's real story how he encountered trials in life. Frozen with fear and frustration! Art Berg met with an accident while he was on his way to see his fiancée. His car skid the road and he broke his neck leaving him a quadriplegic. Doctors imposed limitations of life on Berg that he could not walk, be confined to a electric wheelchair without holding a job and can never have kids. Berg had his will power and determination to fight against all odds, set out in his hand powered wheel chair to be Motivational speaker round the world giving more than 150 speeches each year. An Award winner Hall of Fame Art Berg through his own inspirational journey back to a mobile, satisfying goal to help and heal the beaten and broken up hearts. Success did not come to Berg without deep struggles as he faced discouragement, anger, frustration and sometimes overwhelmed uncertainty in life. As he faced a physical paralysis, he realized that thousands of people are emotionally paralyzed feeling beaten, lost by fate, unfulfilled ambitions and got paralyzed with life's situations. Art has inspired and motivated people with lessons to those who are frozen and gripped with fear and frustration. He said `Don't let a bad day turn into a bad life' and believed that it takes time to make Miracles happen! Adversity does not lead from our ambitions but bring closer to them, said Art. Among his other books `Finding peace in troubled waters' and `Some Miracles take time', both of them are motivational picks. Art Berg had unconquerable spirit and his love for life itself will be a source of inspiration to many a souls!
