Summary: Save your hard earned money
Review: Nothing pains me more than women who write on the military wife's lifestyle with little or no military experience. What happens is books that have no merit or meaning to their subject. But I guess this is what happens when your husband is discharged and you were only "IN" the military for a year. What can one learn about the military wife lifestyle in a year? The book/author says:
"The government does not want to pay for his medical expenses or his college; they just want another mindless drone to follow orders and die for them, if necessary."
Hmm? Something tells me the author if this quote didn't learn much. Save your time, save your money. How someone can feel good conning money out of the sister hood of new military wives when they themselves are no longer even in a service and in return give the reader negative fluff for $20+ is beyond me. I suggest self publishing about a more general topic next time that one is more familiar with such as cats or gold fish etc...

Summary: I've read more informative nutritional lables
Review: This book was nothing but a vehicle for Ms. Martin to vent her frustration with the military. Having been both in the military and a military spouse for some time now, I can say with confidence that it certainly takes more than one year of this lifestyle to make a person fit to dole out advice. Ms. Martin would have been better to keep her whining to herself, and produce an objective piece with real advice instead of cynicism.

Review: Warning! This book is not for those women who can't take a joke!
I was laughing out loud at the humor in this great book. The woman that wrote that she was offended because "she is first in her husbands life" needs a reality check because she is on her way to a nasty wake up call. If the military wasn't first in their lives then this country wouldn't be free - it has to be first, and as a military wive you have to accept that yes, you have to take your place on the back burner a majority of the time, no matter how much he loves you. This book lets you know that there are other military wives that have to go through what you go through and you can't survive without a positive additude and the ability to laugh at the silliness that is so abundent. My favorite part is "if the military wanted your husband to have a wife, they would have issued him one" - that is so true. Its a tough and rewarding road and not everyone is cut out for it, I have recommended this book to all my friends. If this book doesn't make you laugh then there is something wrong with you! Read it!!!!!
