Rating: Summary: Very Good for Those New to Reiki Review: A very good manual for those new to Reiki. This book has good illustrations for the hand positions and a variety of meditions and practical uses of Reiki for those newly attuned to Reiki. It also explains the Reiki levels and describes a history of Reiki.
Rating: Summary: Wanting to learn more Review: I bought this book with the beleif that I could learn how to open myself to a healing art. I am mostly interested in learning how to heal my stress realted symptoms. After reading all the reviews for this book, I was really excited and went out and bought it, here is what I found: The book is an advert for Reiki, and can only be used if you have gone to Reiki workshops (I have not). It does not explain how to open yourself to healing power, does not give any mantras or symbols but tells you that they are 'confidential', and can only be obtained through a master. Page 60 is when it actaully gives some useful information mostly in the form of pictures of how you should place your hands while healing, this is useless unless you have been on a course. In short its a Great Advert for Reiki, full of pretty pictures and useless unless you have attended Reiki classes.
Rating: Summary: Inspirational and exciting Review: I received my first attunement, and then bought the book. WOW! It's visually appealing with awesome pictures and photo's. With loads of information on practical uses of Reiki... I rushed home and Reiki'd the dogs, the plants and the gold fish because of this book. Each time you turn the page you're drawn into a place of enchantment... Definately a "must have" for anyone interested in Reiki... A good book, with a good vibe....
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Survey of Reiki Practice at the Beginner Level Review: I've used this book as required reading for my Reiki I (beginning) students for the last 3 years or so. Beautifully written, illustrated and well grounded, this is one of the few Reiki books that are readable by beginner, dosn't "go off the deep end" or have an axe to grind. It offers an excellent introduction to the metaphysical (non-physical) side of us all, and serves as a competent reference book for the first year or two of those just starting out, but wishing to delve into deeper and more advanced metaphysical understandings of themselves and healing at all levels, physical, mental and spiritual. I recommend it without reservation.
Rating: Summary: witchcraft Review: Its funny that everyone makes a sign of the cross when you say you are studying Wicca but its okay to study Reiki. Not to much of a difference. But I did not like this book because it does not share a lot of the information because it "is secret" and you must be initiated first. Sound like witchcraft and they book of shadows. I am not against witchcraft as I do study Wicca but don't write a book that says you will learn Reiki if you are not going to be taught Reiki. I think someone was writing a book to sell at there classes, or selling books to get people to join a class.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful pictures, very basic content. Review: This book has beautiful pictures of a Reiki 1 hand placement sequence for a full body session. There isn't much content beyond that.
Rating: Summary: An excellent beginning book Review: This book is a wonderful introduction to those new to the path of Reiki. It is easy to comprehend and the colorful presentation and photographs make the book a joy to read through. Especially helpful for the new practitioner are suggestions and meditations for bringing Reiki into one's life everyday.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Reiki Book Review: This book is beautiful and well written. I have been practicing Reiki for 16 years and teaching for 13 and I find this book to be a must for the library of any Reiki practitioner or master. I love the author's style of writing, gentle, clear and very easy for even the beginner to understand.
Rating: Summary: A very beautiful visual and spiritual presentation. Review: This book is exactly what it is supposed to be: an excellent Reiki I manual written by a Reiki master-teacher who truly understands the nature of Reiki. I too am a Reiki master-teacher and own many books on Reiki. This is the best one for the newly initiated Reiki I student. I use it as my Reiki I manual. It correctly teaches the healing techniques, the compassionate attitude and the centeredness which the student is seeking in his/her practice of Reiki. The book's only drawback is that it repeats the old ficticious Reiki history attributed to Mrs. Takata. This book was being published before the research by Frank Petter was published. I teach the carefully investigated history found in "Reiki Fire" by Frank Petter, which I also highly recommend.
Rating: Summary: Beautifully Illustrated Review: This book, in addition to providing a basic grounding in Reiki principles, is also beautifully illustrated with photographs, that are enjoyable to look at without even reading the well-written text. I haven't completely read the book yet, so I think it would be unfair to comment on text.
