Summary: One Big Generic Cook-Book
Review: There isn't anything in this book that you can not read online at any Xenical online site. The book has a few chapters on how Xenical works(which is by blocking some of the fat from food) and the other chapters are pages and pages of some diet plan. It's not a Zone diet or anything just a basic, everyday diet plan. There is a chapter with some badly drawn diagrams of some examples of how to do sit-ups and push-ups but that's it. Nothing much to learn here-unless you just have never seen a diet plan and have never taken a Jr. High P.E. class in your life.

Review: This is a wonderful book for anyone who is using Xenical. In fact, I had a prescription for Xenical for 7 months before I found this book. It contains information on the background of the drug, how to properly use it, suggested meal plans, and is just a general excellent resource. I highly recommend it. I truly believe that you shouldn't use Xenical unless you have this book.

Summary: An Excellent Diet and Weight Loss Resource
Review: Xenical is a lipase inhibitor that acts in the digestive tract rather than systemically. What that means is that Xenical goes through the stomach and to the intestines to do it's work of blocking the absorption of fat. On the other hand, systemic drugs that act as appetite suppressants work on the central nervous system.

Dr. Foreyt gives an interesting historical account of Xenical from the experimental stage and double blind studies to clinical trials to the use of Xenical by foreign countries and finally to the use of Xenical as a prescription medication used for the treatment of obesity in the US. Xenical is the trade name for Orlistat.

Dr. Foreyt recommends joining some program where you will receive emotional support and camaraderie such as Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. He points out that while it's okay to join one of these programs, it is not absolutely necessary for your weight loss success. Foreyt says another possibility would be to see a Registered Dietitian (RD). An RD can help you come up with an eating plan and food choices that will be healthy and nutritionally sound as well as producing weight loss.

The Xenical Advantage is more than a book about Xenical. It is an excellent diet and weight loss resource with information and helps. I highly recommend this book to all dieters. From my favorite chapter, the exercise chapter, I'd like to share 3 quotes:
