Rating: Summary: THE BIBLE OF FAT LOSS!! Review: Covert Bailey does an excellent job of explaining why fat people can eat LESS than their thin spouses and STILL gain weight. They need to reset their bodies metabolism. In a clear, witty and honest approach, Covert Bailey explains how we fat people go about getting back in shape and changing our bodies to burn fat more efficiently. Covert Bailey also gives the hard facts behind his advice so readers can understand why "diets" don't work and why excercise is the key. Also provided is ample scientific data (in plain language) which supports Covert's method of smart excercise. HE also explains why simply going out and excercising too much is counter productive. I recommend this book to every one who needs to loose weight or loves someone who needs to loose weight. Its time to dispell the myth that fat people are simply lazy people, and Covert's book goes a long way towards doing that.
Rating: Summary: great book - changed my life Review: I am in my early thirties and had steadily gained weight for about three years at the rate of 4 or five pounds a year. The result was that last year I found myself about 15 pounds over my ideal 120lbs. I found this book logical and inspirational as it deals with lifestyle and eating habits rather than dieting. Over the course of about 9 months I lost all my excess weight without having to resort to diets. I am fitter and healthier and attribute this to the change in mindset I got from this easy to read book.
Rating: Summary: common sense guide to fitness Review: I really liked how the author differentiated between "overweight" and "overfat." You can be overweight, like a body builder, but not be "fat" by any means. I learned quite a bit here. Basically, good exercise (and he provides many, many tips on this) is the key to having a healthy body. And he doesn't think dieting is a good idea. I like this guy. If you're looking to get in better shape or lose weight, this book is for you!
Rating: Summary: Simple, easy to understand, informative, a great source Review: It was an excellent source of basic information for the newcomer to the fitness world. The chapters were easy to understand but were in depth enough get the point across. An excellent source for someone who wants to get in shape. However, if you want a more scientific, in depth discussion, this may be a bit too simple.
Rating: Summary: THE BIBLE OF FAT LOSS!! Review: No other book describes what it takes to lose fat better than this one.Covert is brilliant at describing how the metabolism works in such a way that anyone can understand it.I refer to it often when my motivation slips because this book motivates as well as educates. It is pure common sense which is something that is lacking in today's society. This book is all you need.
