Rating: Summary: Neuropsychological Bias Review: The author presents a very biased view of child neuropsychology. She omits many relevant research findings especially in the area of neurometrics and presents a very narrow scientific base focusing on only a few relevant researchers. There are also many errors with regard to factual information and little cohesiveness in bringing together research findings. Some of the real pioneers in neuropsychological research have been omitted.
Rating: Summary: Typos and some inaccuracies Review: The book has more typos than any text I've ever purchased and includes some important inaccuracies (e.g., Prozac is referred to as an MAOI). Despite these things, the book provides some good general information, but the reader certainly gets the sense that the book was hurriedly thrown together without a good proofread, first.
Rating: Summary: Not very in-depth Review: This book was a nice overview of pediatric neuropsychology, but I found it quite shallow in terms of practical information. I found myself thinking "yeah, I know all that, now get to the meat." A nice start for the beginner, but don't buy this thinking that you will get details of how to actually do pediatric neuropsychology.
