Rating: Summary: Excellent and accessable overview of Tantra. Review: I've read (and browsed) quite a number of books on tantra. Many of them are a long and energy consuming read. I find Caroline's book to be a very accessable read for beginners in tantra. It's very well organized and written, with a nice balance of text and high quality photos. It covers the various standard areas of tantra at a good clip. I highly recommend it for anyone starting out in Tantra.
Rating: Summary: This is NOT a book for beginners! Review: If you are looking to explore other avenues in sexuality with a steady partner, this is a wonderful book on how to achieve a spiritual/sexual connection to self and each other. This is not a book about positions as much as it is about awakening an essence within yourself to make positions ultra-exciting and stimulating.Tantric and Taoist lovemaking is not an art achieved by having multiple or unsteady partners. It is used to provide a connection between couples that is unattainable through conventional sex. It is lovemaking on a "higher plane." Yes, it is about physical feelings, but it is more about spiritual connectedness. This book is not a quick fix! These arts take time and patience to master...but isn't that 90% of the fun? I believe that this is a fabulous way to open up new dimensions with your partner as long as there is not the pressure of expectation. It will not fix çommunication problems, sexual problems, or lack of interest and caring. It will provide "something new" for couples who already have good sex lives and talk openly about sex with one another.
