Rating: Summary: I am sorry I just didn't get it Review: I am a true believer in the practice of guided imagery but found this book was not in anyway helpful. I need more practical hands on with less yik yak about how successful the author has been in other cases. What about me, the reader, and what I need as opposed to what you have done for the supposed others out there.
Rating: Summary: smart, inspiring, clear and practical -- excellent resource! Review: i found this book to be just what i needed, both for myself (insomnia, back pain) and the people i work with in my practice (psychotherapy). it gave me enough information and examples to inspire confidence, both in the tool of guided imagery and in myself as its practitioner. i use the scripts. at first i wouldn't veer from them, but now i do, because i got very comfortable from having the printed guidelines to take off from. i also think it's very well written and intelligent, but with some humor and humanity. i keep referring back to it. i expect i'll be using it for a long time.i would say this book is good for people who want to use guided imagery for themselves or apply it to others. one of my friends used it to help her child get over night fears. it's definitely worth every penny.
Rating: Summary: FILLS IN THE BLANKS! Review: I have used many of this woman's audio programs. They are the best around, and have done me a world of good on many fronts. This book explains a lot about why they are so good, and gives a nice feel for the theory and methods she uses. I found reading it very helpful and inspiring, too. You realize what's behind those meditations.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Resource Review: I really liked this book. I found it helpful for my therapy practice with both adolescents and adults. The scripts for imagery were helpful and I use them in sessions. Information and background are shared in straight forward, easy to read terms. I have shared Naparstek's theories with clients as part of their treatment, and we have seen success. With a concrete, more pragmatic client however, these techniques are more difficult to use.

Rating: Summary: JUST THE INFORMATION I NEEDED!!!!! Review: I'm relatively new to mind-body health techniques, but this book taught me exactly what I was looking to learn. I've been struggling with several chronic health issues, and I started using Naparstek's Fibromyalgia tape first, found it very helpful, and then wanted to learn more about what it was doing and how it worked. This book was a great complement. I'm a nurse myself, so I know a lot about the traditional side of medicine. This book made a lot of sense to me and provided extra encouragement to continue with my meditation and guided imagery tools.
Rating: Summary: An excellent guide! Review: If I had to just rely on one book to assist me with relaxing my patients as they come through Radiology, this would be it. I've used the meditations in it and the explanations about how imagery works to help create a healing mind state in my patients, and transform anxiety and fear. It works!!
Rating: Summary: Explains the mind body connection for healing wonderfully! Review: This book is excellent for beginning to understand how the mind can control our physiological responses and effect our ability to heal. Ms. Naperstek's imagery exercises are deceivingly simple yet effective. As a veteran hypnotherapist myself, I can attest to the power of guided imagery exercises and it comes from their repeated use! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to discover how to use more of their mind to control physical symptoms and to feel better.
