Summary: Basic and practical
Review: A concise and straight-to-the-point booklet. I believe that the author Lillian Too has done a good job at "sifting the meat from the bones". This book gave me the potent basics and explained it in ways that make sense. I thought that feng shui was something mystical, superstitious and almost religious but this book pointedly shows that it can be easy as well as effective. A suitable book for beginners and people who just want the juiciest part of the steak!

Review: Advice that is easy to comprehend, beautiful graphics, and a treasure of feng shui tips make this book one a reader will turn to again and again! Beginners will find the down to earth text and eyecatching, richly colored photographs and drawings make for an excellent introduction to Feng Shui. I devoured this book and wish to apply the principals as soon as possible! Lillian Too has got to be one of the foremost authors on Feng Shui, and I have plans to purchase the other books she offers on the subject. If you can only own one book on Feng Shui, this is it!

Summary: Move Your Chi
Review: After being exposed to feng shui through a very basic book, I was hooked, but after reading and applying Lillian's ideas, I was sold. All I did was re-position the furniture in my room, based on my Kua number, as a quick and FREE experiment, and within minutes I and my roommates noticed the difference in the symmetry and balance of my room, and I noted an enhancement to my confidence and expectation level after one day. Just by re-arranging my furniture! Simply amazing. I'm now working on integrating the finer ideas she presents in my room and living quarters. The only problem I had was that the ideas are not categorized by rooms (ex. bedroom, living room, etc.) rather, it seems, by Bagua areas (ex. Wealth, Career, Knowledge, etc.). Probably as an extension of the first problem, I also found that there was not enough clarity on what was allowed or not allowed by room. All in all, though, I received an excellent foundation in the study and application of feng shui.

Summary: DIDN'T MAKE THE GRADE
Review: After owning this book for nearly two years and meticulously following its advice in arranging my living and working space for maximum career success and wealth, here is what I've experienced: after 2.5 years of working part-time at a low wage for a computer company whose CEO kept promising me a decent salary, stock options and all the benefits, I ended up with a 17% pay cut, no salary, no stock options, no benefits. My other client, after promising he'd work hard to build his title insurance business and pay me more, wasted his time on non-productive pursuits and ended up not being able to afford to pay me to work for him part-time.

I've also worked diligently on the side to start other income streams, only to see each of them come to nothing, but delays and time wasted.

Now I'm not a disbeliever in the concept of chi. I practise Chi Gung, Taiji and other internal martial arts, have had acupuncture, and for a westerner, have embraced much Asian philosophy and practises. But when it comes to Feng Shui, it is disappointing in its results unless one is writing Feng Shui books and makes millions selling copies.

No one has adequately proven the validity and beneficial results of either Compass or Black Hat Feng Shui, which contradict each other, and each claims to be right. Safe to say, it belongs in the realm of hyper motivational speakers and self-proclaimed experts hawking dubious theories to enrich themselves at the expense of the naive and uninformed.

Besides, if Feng Shui REALLY did work, China would be the richest nation on earth, instead of one of the poorest. That alone is ample evidence of the impotence of Feng Shui.

Your money is better spent on books teaching financial literacy.

Summary: Just another book by Ms. Too
Review: I found Lillian's book for a beginner very intersting.
It was a very easy to follow book, with great ideas and tips for all ages, and in almost every subject one could desire, I have adapted some of her ideas and put them into practice, especially energising rooms, tables and desktops.
Re-arranging the bedroom is another idea which I have used and it has worked well...

Summary: This is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read
Review: I have known about Feng Shui for many years but never felt inspired to impliment it until I came across Lillian Too's Feng Shui. It was so simple and really gave me the feeling that I could indeed make dramatic changes in my life. I have made phenominal changes since reading this book. In addition I have inspired many others to purchase this book because of my enthusiasm. There are a number of business associates who have helped me in my career and I will be purchasing the book for them as a thank you gift. I have tried to find this book in the bookstores and it is always sold out. I carry my copy around with me like a bible in my attempt to memorize many key factors. It's the best. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Just another book by Ms. Too
Review: I've given this book a three-star rating because if you're a beginner just starting to get an idea about Compass School Feng Shui, then I'm sure you'll like this book - easy-to-follow and remember guidelines, charming pictures, all that. But if you're like me and have read some of her other books AND aren't an absolute beginner, you won't find much new information in this one, so it's not worth buying.

Summary: Lillian Too is the best writer on Feng Shui!
Review: Lillian Too makes Feng Shui clear and a lot easier to understand than anyone else I have read. Her new book is subtitled "168 Ways to Success, but has 179 different tips to get you started in Feng Shui, with very lovely illustrations.

While reading this book won't make you an expert overnight (that takes years of study and experience), it will get you started off right. You do need to purchase a compass (these are not expensive and can be found in camping stores in any mall.) The compass helps you can locate the good and bad areas of your office or home and take some action. For what ever reason, many people report that these tips seem to work.

On the more practical side, Feng Shui also teaches you to de-clutter your home. Clutter saps energy (as anyone who feels energized by walking into a newly-cleaned room can tell you.) One Chinese proverb say that, for good luck, you should move 27 things. This is one way to motivate kids or even yourself to pick up a room. Another good rule is to keep the lid down on the uh, throne in the bathroom. Not only does this prevent "energy" from leaving the house, it also is more sanitary.

Some people have reported that their business or worklife improves if they rearrange their office. While this isn't possible in everybody's workplace, there are other techniques in the book to change the flow of energy to improve things.

A bit of bio data on Lillian Too is interesting because she is so successful--she has an MBA from Harvard Business School, and was the first woman in Asia to become a Managing Director of a publicly listed company in Malaysia. She was the first woman in Asia to become CEO of a Hong Kong bank. After she managed a chain of department stores, she left to become a mother, then started writing. She is now the top author on Feng Shui. (I guess her tips for success must work!)

Summary: So so
Review: This was a great book to jump start your interests in feng shui. It has the basic fundamentals covered but failed to explain reasons behind solutions.
