Rating: Summary: Dean Ornish, MD on YOGA FOR YOUR LIFE Review: "Yoga is the most powerful system of stress management, but it is also more than that: it is a system for transforming our awareness and quieting down our mind and body to experience inner sources of peace, joy, and well-being. I highly recommend YOGA FOR YOUR LIFE as a practical and clear guide to getting started in yoga."

Rating: Summary: My favorite yoga book Review: A beautifully produced book. If you are a beginner or if you are intimidated by other yoga books, this is a wonderful place to start. There are eight programs that get progressively more challenging but, not never to the point where you can't do them. I love doing these exercises and even on those exhausting days I can still do program one. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: A Great Find! Review: I wanted a book that would show me how to do the yoga postures. One that would focus mainly on the postures and less on the meditative aspects of yoga. I found both in this book. It has easy to follow step-by-step instructions which give you alternate forms of the posture if you are unable to achieve the posture at your range or level. The book gives you weekly workouts to let you know how long to try things before moving on to the more difficult postures. I have recommended this book to friends and family alike. A Great Book.

Rating: Summary: best beginners yoga guide of all Review: Quite good, practical introduction to Vinoyoga, with well thought out and well illustrated practice sequences. The best viniyoga practice book available. Purposeful short on philosophy. Good companion to The Heart of Yoga (Desikachar) and Yoga for Body Breath & Mind (Mohan).
Rating: Summary: A nice companion book to class instruction Review: This book is beautifully illustrated with real pictures of people holding the poses that are taught. The only issue I have with this book is that it is NOT a replacement for a real-live instructor. (I believe the authors even state that this book is not a replacement.) Also, there are is no instruction on how to modify the poses for specific injuries or how to take the pose to a higher level. All of the flows and poses are pretty basic/intermediate. There are some inversions that are demonstrated. This is a great basic instruction book for your own practice at home. I definitely would recommend this to any one interested in yoga, as long as they have a qualified instructor
Rating: Summary: A Technicolor Yoga Book for the Body,Breath and Mind Review: Very easy to use this book even if you have no knowledge or experience with yoga. Allows you to effectively practice yoga in your own home on your own time with terrific results
