Summary: An entertaining, riveting and eye-opening read!
Review: According to Liz H. Kelly, one of the keys to finding a man is to get out of your Home Box or, in other words, the comfort zone of regular activities and relationships you're used to. That may sound tough to many, especially those new to or experiencing dating for the second time around. However, armed with this book as your guide you'll wonder why you never tried it before.Liz H. Kelly's SMART Man Hunting is a sassy, informative guide to finding a man in what she calls the New Era of dating. Starting from the basics of how to transform your thinking and widen your approach to man hunting, it goes on to explore the variety of avenues, such as email and web dating, matchmaking and speed dating, that are available in today's society. Each approach is dealt with in depth and the text is packed with practical tips, personal experiences and useful examples from people who've been there and done it already. Once you've followed the suggestions, got into the dating scene and found yourself some dates, section III encourages active analysis, assessment and reviews of men. This is an important element of meeting new people, especially those who you've initially met online and, like the rest of the book, Liz tackles it with a sensible attitude and down-to-earth approach, including plenty of cautionary tales and warning signs. Section IV, the SMART Man Hunting ABC Man Codes, is great fun and worth a read even if you've already got a man. Very cleverly identified, wittily written and highly memorable, the codes can help you identify types of men in a second....and help you avoid them instantly if they ring the wrong bell. For example, ESS stands of Executive Search Seeker, or the type of man who only wants a career minded woman, FE is the fitness extremist who's obsessive about regular workouts, HGG is the hello, goodbye guy, who seems nice and pleasant, than does a sudden disappearing act, and NN is the nourishing nester, who likes one-on-one company and quality time at home. Whether you're on a serious hunt for Mr. Right, are interested in occasional dates, have recently re-entered the dating market or think it's useful to be keyed up to help date-less friends, this is an entertaining, riveting and eye-opening read.

Summary: Great BOOK and a Great INTERVIEW
Review: Although this book is written for women, and I can see where a single women who wants to have a more enjoyable dating experience would find it invaluable, but I really had a great time reading it and found it enlightening and the stories enjoyable. By the way, I'm always looking for how to be more romantic, and now that our youngest has graduated from college, my wife and I can go into full time dating (each other) and Liz Kelly gave me some great insights. One of the tools that Liz Kelly uses to help women evaluate the type of men they date is a Man Code. There are 26 of them and she has pegged them to the Alphabet. These gave me some insight into how to become more attractive.

Summary: Love the versions of men
Review: I love the abbreviated versions of men in this book. And yes, I have dated a few of those in my time. I can't wait to find that "Bachelor Available!" Thank you Liz for the fun guy types and for the encouraging words! It is so hard to date in Washington DC, but I am going to get back out there with your new man hunting ideas.

Review: I remember Liz sharing dating tips with me during high school in Baltimore. She had a natural knack for giving advice then - and now has taken her talents to a new level in a new century. She is genuine, sincere, and provides excellent advice in this book. I especially like her 26 ABC Man Codes - they made me laugh and gave me a lot of insights on men. Go Liz Go! Go SMART Man Hunting!

Review: I thought it was brilliant how Liz distilled down to a single question the inquiry one should ask oneself after a first meeting/date. "Would I ever want to kiss my date?" It's so simple but that truly is the essence of what should be considered when weighing whether to go out again with that person. Perhaps it was the simplicity of this advice that struck me as profound. I said to myself, "Yes, that's it. That's exactly the litmus test!" I think most importantly, the overall tone of Smart Man Hunting is spot on. The reader gets the sense that like a good friend who has some battle stories to share and some wisdom to impart, the author has nothing but the reader's best interest at heart. She comes across as sincerely interested in helping the reader get on the right track without sounding overly preachy - not an easy line to walk. Liz, I came away from reading your book with the distinct impression that you are a good person with a good heart. Bravo!

Summary: Fun for Married People Too
Review: I've had great fun with this dating book even as a married person. I leave it on the coffee table and love to watch people's reactions when they come over. They often say, "What does your husband think about that book?" I just laugh and tell them how much I enjoy reading Smart Man Hunting. If you want to break your married life routine and live vicariously through these true tales from daters, you should buy this book.
