Rating: Summary: a great way to keep from reacting to people and situations Review: I found this book about four years ago. I didn't realize what a treasure it would be. I've had months go by without ever thinking of it, then suddenly, I go in search of it. Now it stays in the drawer beside my bed. It's simple and wise and it never fails to set me back on my path. If I could recommend one book for someone to have on hand, "Finding Your Strength in Difficult Times" would be the one. If we all kept these ideas in our minds and hearts, certainly the world would be a far simpler place to navigate.
Rating: Summary: It's a great help finding myself Review: It is mean much more than a pocket book to me. The way he said things, sometime you can't believe it but it so true. Need to check it out!
Rating: Summary: Beautiful truth Review: This book allows us to see ourselves as we really are, and to know that the truth is that we can handle just about anything if we face it honestly. The purity and grace of the writing make the thoughts readily accessible. I have often found help in this book, and have shared it with many people.
Rating: Summary: Will change your whole perspective. Review: This book could be simply entitled, Finding Your Strength. I have bought at least 20 of these books and given them to friends. It's one that you can simply open to any page and find words that will be of help for that day. I haven't found a better gift for anyone under stress, or just needing a lift. Five stars squared.
Rating: Summary: Something we all need Review: This book is for everybody. We all need words of encouragement and David Viscott delivers. Every passage is something we as people can relate to everyday. When your down you can open this book to any page and find something to bring you right back up! Read a passage and take a few minutes to let it soak in and continue on with your day. My favorite,"What other people think of you is none of your business." Beautiful.
Rating: Summary: The Definitive Emotional Crisis Reference Text! Review: This is one of my all time necessary readings. When the crisis hits, after your scream, holler, and cry: wash your face, have some juice and get cozy with this little book. My favorite quote goes, "Noone is coming to save you. You are your own salvation or your life is without merit. If you are waiting for someone to come along to save you, find a comfortable seat". Full of successful, right to the point reality checks!
Rating: Summary: A must have - no crisis needed Review: This was sent to me after my father was killed in an accident and it's been a saving grace. Its full of great advice even if the only difficult times you have is simply getting from Monday thru to Friday. My favorite is "The only reason you need for wanting to do something is because you want to".
