Rating: Summary: Over Coffee...... Review: As a Christian "Twentysomeone" gal I think I have my stuff together....well, for the most part anyway. I picked this book up at a conference ;) and had a hard time putting it down till the last page was read --including the rec' book list at the back. Each section is followed by a few questions that I found surprisingly helpful in shaping/realizing my focus, life goals (professional and personal), and what I want my remaining few 'twentysomeone' years to be about. Enjoyed the book and the result of it in my life so much that I had to share it with my friends. Those questions and a list of things to do in your 20's (in the back of the book) made for great coffee house conversation with friends. Thanks to the authors for sharing their insight.
Rating: Summary: A parent's perspective Review: As a Christian "Twentysomeone" gal I think I have my stuff together....well, for the most part anyway. Rating: Summary: Are you a twenty someone? Review: I was fortunate enough to read this book a few weeks before it came out, and it was phenomenal. Doug and Craig worked so well together in putting together a book that, literally, everyone in their twenties should read. It contains insights, truths, and lots of humor. I am ordering several copies to send to my friends who I know will love it as much as I. Read on!
Rating: Summary: A parent's perspective Review: I'm not a twentysomeone, but I was one once - a long time ago. Reading TWENTYSOMEONE helped me make peace with my 20's. Now as the parent of 2 daughters in their "decade of transition," I'm at peace with their tewnties as well. In fact, I learned that my daughters are navigating their twenties much better that I did mine. As my daughters contune through their twenties I am confident that TWENTYSOMEONE will serve them well as a guide for growth and as a source of encouragement.
Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: Ok, my review might be a little biased as I know one of the authors(Doug) so bear with me. First is that Doug and Craig hit home on what it is like to be in your 20's and trying to figure life out. Second it is not written in a how to fashion, they give suggestions and insight on how to deal with this transitional phase in your life, but in the end your relationship with God is key. On a whole I would recommend this book to an Christian in his/her twenties or even non-Christians that want to see how Christians coup with life events.
Rating: Summary: TwentySomeone is an essential read Review: People in their twenties need to read this book. It is absolutely essential. This insighful book is pregnant with wisdom and each page drips with the gospel. I found it not only inspirational but easy to read as the with and humor of the authors keeps you turning the page. The book hits home on the struggles and insecurities of those experiencing the transition of their twenties and offers true insight and practical counsel. Serven and Dunham have done a wonderful job with this piece, so much that I would honestly rank it among the greats in Christian literature.
Rating: Summary: What do I do now??? Review: Scathingly honest reflection of what it's like to be a twenty something is, to me, the outstanding quality of this book and it's authors. Sound wisdom is given, by exposing examples from the minds, lives, and experiences of the authors. Keen wit, and blatent life blunders are laced throughout the presentation of deep questions we all ask outselves in our twenties. What is this life for? Why am I here? Where do I go, what do I do, and who do I do it with??? What is important now?! These questions are addressed in an palatable manner that is captivating in its presentation. At 26, I found this book to be essential, and an oasis in a world that seems so tumultuous at this time. Being allowed to read the thoughts and opinions of the authors when they were twenty somethings was like a reflection into my own mind. Wow, I am not alone. If you're in or near your 20s, this is a must read.
