Rating: Summary: Misinformed Review: AFTER READING ALL THESE PEOPLE'S REVIEWS, I JUST HAD TO WRITE ONE!Yes, in the garden of Eden Man did not eat the flesh of animals, BUT, GOD did create the other animals and humans are NOT in the Garden of Eden anymore!Everyone get over your problems with the Bible! No wonder we were kicked out! This way of eating is the easiest and affordable way of getting healthy, and .......losing weight!God created the animals and we use them for meat, or did we forget that he sent wave after wave of game birds to moses and the jews while they were wandering in the desert for 70 years., they also ate manna, for those who are going to dispute this review. I've read it four times. God sent us meat to eat.............This diet is for people who want an answer to their weight loss problem. It is not a fast solution, but people will eventually reach their goals.
Rating: Summary: God's Wisdom! Review: I am finally losing fat! I found this book one afternoon in a bookstore just when I was at the end of my dieting rope...frustrated in the fact that I was trying to change my diet, but not getting anywhere in the fat loss department. I tried low carb, low sugar (which are both good, just not the total answer for me), and other approaches, although still eating some whole grain breads and crackers and other whole grain, but man made products. After much prayer, I found this book and I am now losing fat steadily after removing these whole grain-but man made items. I eat balanced meals, I'm never hungry, have lots of energy and I'm finally sleeping well! God's Diet is easy to shop and cook on, and easy to stay on for my busy soccer mom schedule. I have found my answer....and God in His wisdom knew what to do all the time!
Rating: Summary: Way to go, Dorothy! Review: I didn't think this book was going to be much help, because I figured "God's diet" meant you'd be eating manna from Heaven 3 times a day, 365 days a year, for 40 years. Fortunately, the book's diet is quite a bit more diverse than that.Still, I bet that manna thing would make for a great crash diet sometime.
Rating: Summary: Short, Simple, Healthy AND Effective!! Review: I was looking for a simple, doable and healthy eating regimen that I could follow for the rest of my life. This is IT! God's Diet is easily summed up in less than 20 words. 'If God made it, you can eat it. No sugar, no white flour, low salt and no fried foods.' Dr. Gault-McNemee explains the medical rationale for each facet of the simple plan in plain English, and it just makes good sense. The program allows you to eat all of the meat, fruit, and vegetables you want. This book is not based on Bible law. It is called "God's Diet" to acknowledge God as the Creator of all things natural and healthy for human consumption. I've been on the plan for about six weeks and have lost ten pounds without ever feeling hungry or seriously deprived. The program WORKS! Best of all, I've never felt better!

Rating: Summary: It Really Works!! Review: I woke up one day and stepped on the scale and when it showed that I was closely approaching 200 lbs, it scared me to death. I knew I had to do something. I had never started any diets because all of them restricted what I could eat and most were made up of vegetables which I hate. I went online and read into the Atkin's Diet. I took a quiz on their site which told me that I was addicted to Carbs and Sugar and it was affecting my health, my well being and my sanity. I went to the library but I couldn't find the Atkins book. The title, "God's Diet" caught my attention. I decided a little help from up above couldn't hurt and I took it home. When I read it I was happy that it wasn't filled with bible quotes and that it was easy to read. I read more into it and I was surprised at how I was poisoning my body with all the chemicals in processed foods. I said, That's it, I am not eating any of that stuff ever again. That was in April 2003. It is now October and I am still following the diet. Exactly 6 months later and I feel awesome. I have lost almost 50 pounds and 6 pant sizes. No joking! I don't care about how she's not following the bible. I am a Catholic who attends church weekly. God is my friend. He has helped me so much and I know that it was He who put this book in front of me at the library. I don't need anyone to tell me what I should and should not eat. All I needed was a little advice. Everyone in my family has told me how proud they are of me and how there is no way they could give up bread and pasta and soda. I tell them that it is easy when you can have steak and mashed potatoes and eggs. It doesn't feel like you are suffering. I have not been hungry once. I eat brown rice, chicken, potatoes, eggs, bacon, beef, salad, all kinds of fruits, beans and nuts. I can have seafood I just don't like it. I ended up purchasing the book because of all the people who kept asking me to borrow it. I feel like a walking advertisement. I am still not at my ideal weight but I know that I can be there and soon. All I need to do is continue the diet and exercise and drink lots of water. I feel that this is something that I can continue for the rest of my life. I used to be addicted to things like Oreos and Ice Cream and Chocolate. Now I am addicted to sunflower seeds, and peanuts and grapes. Those are my munchies now. There is no portion control with this diet. As long as you follow the principle, "If God Didn't make it, then don't eat it!" you will be fine. This book is a little pricey for its size but I highly recommend it. If you don't want to purchase it then look for it in the library. It is so easy that all you need to do is read through it once and you won't have to read it again. One thing that helped a lot was some advice that was in the book, if someone offers you a food that you know you can't have, don't say, " I can't eat that." instead say "I don't eat that anymore." There is a big difference. I have to admit that it was hard at first especially since I live with 6 other people and none of them are following it with me. If you just believe in yourself you can do this too. Another thing, I lost 50 pounds without exercise! Yes you read that right, NO EXERCISE!! Even though the author does recommend exercise, I just never got around to it and I still lost weight. I just recently started doing sit ups and crunches so that I can get rid of my sagging belly. So I am just going to try and tone up but the diet gets rid of everything else. I look at my before and after pictures and I am amazed that that person was me.
Rating: Summary: Misinformed Review: Unfortunately the author is very new to nutrition and health and even a full awareness of the Bible (since it is supposed to be "God's Diet"). First of all, it is rather sad that the emphasis is on weight loss, with very little awareness of the health implications of a wrong diet. If you eat healthy, you will lose weight, but the benefits of good health are so much longer lasting and valuable. Secondly, although Gen. 9:3 in the Bible says we can eat all living things, Leviticus 11 gives a list of "clean and unclean" meats. (Pork are scavenger (garbage can) animals and "bottom feeder" lobster, shrimp, crab, etc. are the ocean scavengers-thus the reason God told us to avoid.) The author may want to look at the list if she ever revises her book. Also, bread and pasta ARE GOOD FOODS - IF THEY ARE MADE WITH THE WHOLE GRAINS - and they are Bible foods. I would recommend she stick to her premise "If God didn't make it, don't eat it" and really research and learn the difference. Many of the permissable foods she lists are man-made and harmful. Try the books "The Word on Health" by Dr. Michael Jacobson; "The Bible Cure" by Reginald Cherry; "What Would Jesus Eat?" by Dr. Don Colbert; and "Eating God's Way" video by Dr. Gordon Tessler. If you enter these titles on Amazon, they will recommend other books along the same line to start you on your road to health and weight loss.
Rating: Summary: So Far So Good Review: Well even if you believe that the processed foods are good for you if you read the rationale behind not eating it, it makes sense. It also works(hence the title diet) after only 3 weeks I lost 10 inches and 6 pounds. The only issue I have is I would like more info and I do not know how to contact the author. It is very hard because everything that is processed has some kind of sugar, modified food starch or flour in it. But it is easy too because there is no portion control and I have still lost.
