Summary: Is the cure in the cupboard?
Review: After searching for this book for over a month I finally received my copy and set out to study all about the Oregano in my cupboard. Much to my surprise before even finishing the introduction Dr. Igram disclaimed the whole title with a statement the Oregano that we can purchase at the grogery or health food store was not acceptable. "In other words , whatever the supermarket has on its shelves or whatever the health food purveyor might provide, it isn't medical grade oregano: period. Such products will not and cannot exhibit the curative effects described in this book." Mr Igram then goes on to promote a obscure company as the sole source for the oregano that works. If you decide to call the 800 number listed be prepared to shell out around a hundred dollars. Overall the book could have been a lot of fun and quite a help for home remidies. The only problem is I don't know and he didn't tell me what this stuff in my cupboard should be.

Summary: Enlightening
Review: Enlightening is the only way to describe this book and the revelation that the herb oregano can do so much. In researching my book, I traveled in many different directions, healthwise, but when I heard someone hawking oregano on an infomercial, I thought that this was another farfetched health claim. However, it did peek my interest, so I bought Dr. Ingram's book just to satisfy my curiousity.

Besides the fact that he did such a marvelous job in laying out the case for oregano and the many benefits that it has to your health, I found it very captivating reading and finished it very quickly, using my highlighter along the way.

I highly recommend this book for anyone seriously wanting to improve their health or even just to round out their education. One note; make sure you get the right oregano...most of it does not have the medicinal qualities of the wild oregano grown in Europe. Also, oregano is such a good anti-bacterial, if you swallow too much, too often, you could disrupt the balance of the beneficial bacteria residing in your intestines. (Sublingual, under the tongue mixed with olive oil works well.)

Summary: Wild Oregano Works - My Sinus Problems Are Receding
Review: Finally, a cure for the Flu, Sinusitis, and Common Cold.
I caught a radio program featuring Cass Ingram two years go by chance. The first words I heard him utter, "Oregano is Hyssop in the Bible, no germ will grow in Hyssop." It was like a lightning bolt. Since then, my entire family, and all of my friends, and a few close coworkers use oil, juice, and ground oregano.

If skeptical just take a look at your local supermarket spice shelf. I noticed in all of my local supermarkets the Mediterranean Oregano is 3-4 times more expensive than the ordinary Oregano. Why?

I started off with the supermarket Mediterranean Oregano, just in my cooking. What a difference! No more popping joints, sinusitis, or asthma symptoms.

I wonder if it works on ALL viruses?

Summary: Divine Appointment and healed of bad throat infection
Review: God gave me a divine appt. at church on Sunday when I was suffering from a bad throat infection. A gal told me how she had been using the Wild Oil of oregano to ward off a sinus infection and also to prevent gum disease. She told me how she had read Dr. Cass Ingram's book also. I was going downhill and believe God intervened for me through this acquaintance. Ihad also been having a twitching problem in my left index finger. within minutes of putting 2 drops of the regular strength oil of oregano from North american Herb & Spice Company under my tongue I got very relaxed and the twitching stopped. the next day my throat felt way way better.

I kept using it per the instructions in Dr. Ingram's book on bronchial infection and sore throats. I also used other things like zinc, etc. but the only things that really worked was the oregano oil and prayer. In addition to the oregano oil I went up for prayer at my church and people prayed for my healing. The horrid yellow phlegm went away totally. (...)

Since then, I have used the oil on pimples and it takes them away real fast and you don't have to squeeze them anymore. My daughter has been using it too with good success for her acne. (...) I do not use any other brand but North American Herb & Spice company.

The oil has also helped my food allergy reactions and it has helped my dad's bad food allergies. He has also been using it to help his nose allergies. He has been able to cut down on his steroid meds which are terrible for you. He recently got in a car accident and sustained whiplash. The day the oregano oil came in he was in a lot of pain and had to get around with a cane. he put 4 drops of the oil under his tongue and immediately began to feel better and then forgot about the pain and the cane. He realized later it was the oil of oregano and he only ordered the regular strength. The Superstrength is 300% stronger according to Dr. Ingram. Read this book and buy the oregano you will be glad you did!

Summary: Wild Oregano Works - My Sinus Problems Are Receding
Review: I bought the Oreganol (Oil of Oregano in a bottle with medicine dropper). It has cleared up my sinus problems (not all the way - yet - but I have suffered for 25 years). I can now breathe through my nose. I changed my voicemail at work; my voice is now clear (no more obnoxious sinus drip and foggy voice). A lot of sinus infections are caused by fungi - not bacteria (according to Dr. Ingram). That's why antibiotics are useless. In fact, penicillin and derivatives will feed fungi growth.

If you are a chronic sinus sufferer (or suffer from asthma or bronchitis), read the book and buy the products. You will regain your health and have energy.

Summary: For the most part the book's information is accurate.
Review: I have read the reviews of the three listed by your readers. I became leary after reading the last one, so I did some research on the Herb Oregano. Dr. Ingram's information on the herb is accurate, with the exception of three of his statements. 1. His oregano being the only curing Oregano. I think he owns that N. Am. Herb & Spice Co. 2. I went to ten different Herb books and found Oregano as named in two books. I found it under Wild Marjoram, Mexican Wild Sage, and in an American Indian Herb book under Horsemint. All of these are in the same Genus/Species, meaning that they bare the similar oils with the similar medicinal effects. 3.The other erroneous statement is that, the more than 40 plants in four botanical families, does not confuse which one is medicinal, as they all are effective. By the way, Wild Marjoram was called "joy of the mountain", by the Greeks, which means Oregano and Marjoram are basically the same and have healing properties. Therefore, I feel the herb is well worth a try in natural healing. I'm certainly going to try it for four to six weeks for results. Dr. Ingram's book is basically accurate on the information with the exception of the above mentioned. He would have been more believable to the total population had he not claimed his oregano was the only healing oregano. He could have still plugged his product with a little more sincereity. Still he has put into one book the infomation on Oregano that I found in four other herbal books.

Summary: Interesting, sensible concepts.
Review: I heard about this oil of Oregano from a friend at work and decided to get some, even though I had no health problems at the time. After reading the book and seeing all the interesting uses, I decided to try it on a stubborn case of athlete's foot. It worked perfectly! Exactly as described! I have since used it on mosquito bites, and on my sons' bee sting, on a 3rd degree burn, and I am looking for more oportunities to try it on. Everyone I mention it to seems skeptical, but I have yet to disprove any of the "cures" listed in the book. Although it seems like a bunch of hogwash to the reader at first, it turns out to be informative and sensible. You can't put a price on a quick, safe, cure-all like this one!

Summary: Effective
Review: If you read this book you will be led to believe that Oil of Oregano (only the type Dr. Ingram sells and no other) will cure anything from foot fungus to Hepatitis B. However, you have to keep taking it forever (even after the disease is "cured"), you have to take capsules and oil under the tongue several times a day and you have to keep sending Dr. Ingram several hundred dollars a month for the products. What if it doesn't work? Then take more and more. What if your own doctor says it's worthless? Then he's part of the medical industry conspiracy trying to keep you away from Oil or Oregano. Dr. Ingram presents no scientific data to speak of to support his claims, only anecdotical stories about miracle cures and sewage sterilization. He walks a fine line between making unsubstantiated claims and spinning a nice story. Save your money. This is nothing more than the script for a late night informational.

Summary: Lots of anecdotal examples.
Review: The book is informative in an informal way. I am trying the products Dr. Ingram mentions to see, for myself, if they are efficacious.

My concern about the book is that none of the studies cited or case histories described are adeqately sourced to enable the reader to verify the information presented.

The bibliography is extensive but not readily useful to the reader unless you want to make a complete study of the subject and need a place to start.

As a physician, Dr. Ingram knows better. He would not accept this kind of information as useful in his practice of medicine nor would you find it published in a scientific journal. Yet he expects us to accept it as gospel.

I would like to see this book reissued and properly sourced. Dr. Ingram needs to include some information on dosing specifications for adults and children. The reader is left on his own to discern from the case examples how much Oregano to take and in what form.

Summary: My Opinion of "The Cure is in The Cupboard"
Review: The book speaks for itself. You must try some of Dr. Ingram's suggestions. It is up to the individual. It's not a "cure all" but if only "one suggestion" works, isn't that enough???

I would like to tell you of my experience.. A dear friend of mine suggested I try oregonal oil. Let me tell you, she was very ill. She has asthma, complicated by sinus drainage to the point she couldn't breath. To the point she couldn't leave the house to walk a couple of blocks.

She had heard about oreganol oil on the radio several times. She decided to go to her local health store to purchase the oil. She tried it and immediately felt her chest and head clear. She hasn't used her inhaler for a week. She was "amazed" and couldn't believe it. She was suffering, I'm a witness, and I couldn't believe it.

I went to my local health store and purchased some for myself. I took some and very shortly, my head and chest cleared. I have been suffering for 30 years from sinus (had surgery) and allergies. I have never felt such a drastic difference. For my sinus and chest congestion, it works.

I'm not saying, at this point, it helps other problems, but I know it works (for me) on my sinuses and chest. It doesn't cure me, but I'm am not suffering, and I can breath. Every Spring I get bronchitis, "so far so good".

I'm so thankful. I have never experienced such a miraculous change from any medicinal or natural substance.

I could only speak for myself. I will be looking for other uses from Dr. Cass Ingram's book. My opinion is, you will get something out of the book.
