Summary: One of the best books I have ever read!
Review: A lot of words little substance, takes too long to get to the point,You'd think that since this info was around since 1900's the book today would be more informative. I guess the object here is to have the sick folk buy direct from the author. I might get volume 2 just to see if the misery pattern of writing is continued.

Review: Bad: The book is a long info-mercial for his cleanse products. Very little that is in this book is not at his website. He also injects some strange pseudo-Christian beliefs into the book which may make some readers uncomfortable.

Good: This book helped me better realize that I must take control of my own health. The modern medical establishment is not there for your health! Over the past few months, I have lost 15 pounds and feel much better. Was the book the key? Not entirely, but it did help in my learning process.

Summary: Brilliant!
Review: I am so thankful that Richard Anderson wrote this book, i assume that in 50 yrs from now people will look back and acknowledge how right he was in his health approach. Must read this book if you are serious about your health.

Summary: Best Cleanse Program Out There!
Review: I went on Dr. Anderson's program about 7 years ago the first time and got rid of a bad case of acne, plus lost 10 lbs and felt great. I gave my excellent old book away to a friend who really needed it for his health. Last month I saw Dr. Anderson's updated book and bought it. It is a vast improvement on the last one -- color photos, testimonials from participants, etc. This book is well written as well as a fun read. It opens your eyes to how bad the typical U.S. diet really is. It really motivates you to clean your system out. I am currently in my second week of the cleanse and feel very energetic and positive, my lethargy and lack of motivation is gone. I am buying this book for my brother and sisters for their birthdays.

Summary: Wake up!
Review: Please READ this book and wake up to the evils of the medical profession. It is about time that we take resposibility for our own health and begin to live in symbiosis with mother nature. This book is informative, factual and a delight to read. Please remember that prevention is better that cure. Read Richard Anderson's book NOW and set off on the awsome road to peace and beauty. One of the best spiritual/ holistic/ nutrition books I have ever read. Take control of you life and love will bring you a beautiful gift.

Summary: An excellent book on the road to better health!
Review: This book was lent to me, at a time when I am actively researching answers to optimal health. I gave this book a very good rating, even though there are few things I don't completely agree with. Since I am very open minded, I enjoy reading many books, and comparing to see which ones seem to make sense, and resonate with me.

I have long known about the perils of treating "symptoms" as though they were a disease. Dis-ease is the end result of a cause, and symptoms are nature's warning signs, much like the oil or engine light in a car. Does one unscrew the bulb because they are tired of looking at the light? Every cause has an effect, and many times the effect shows up many years later.

Based on what I know about Wellness, Dr. Anderson has done his homework. There is a great deal of critically important information here. The book is very frank, and is a "wake up" call to better health. Some parts will even bring a chuckle or two. It is not for the closed minded however, and/or, those who think there is nothing they can do about their challenges, and/or continue to rely on others to take control of [destroy?] their health. Is this book perfect? No, I don't believe any one source [human] can be perfect, as there are simply too many variables. The Creator is the only one who knows all.

The religious references offer an interesting perspective, and will prompt one to do some investigating. His views on meat eating vs vegetarianism will do the same. Personally, I know that being a strict vegetarian did not work for me. The best parts of the book are the lengthy chapters on how our body is designed to work, and how what we put into it affects that process.

In my opinion, if more people had a better understanding of basic anatomy, vs the desire to eat for taste, appearance, and advertised food trends, we would be empowered to make better decisions, and be in much better health. I intend to begin the cleanse on May 5, 2003, and I am looking forward to the results.
