Summary: Realize how to SHINE
Review: During and after reading SHINE by Larry Thompson I felt a wave of hope. It was both comforting and empowering to realize that with determination and by doing the things that are suggested in the book I could accomplish my goals. By reading about people whom I respect and how they attained their stardom - I was inspired. Larry breaks it down into simple categories where you can determine your own strengths or weaknesses and what you need to do to improve. Another aspect of the book that I liked was the author's heartfelt approach. It made me feel like he cared and that his advice was what I needed to hear.

Summary: Real Life Application With A Celebrity Spin
Review: So many of the self-help books I read don't provide the tools that I can apply TODAY to make a substantial improvement in my career and life. When I finished reading SHINE, not only did I have a solid direction and road map for how I am going to achieve my goals, I had a whole new perspective for how I perceive today's celebrities and their successes. This was a terrific read from start to finish. I'm looking forward for ways to learn more from Larry and his clients.

Summary: Great read for young adults wanting to be film producers
Review: Whenever I am invited into high schools to speak as an author,I always have a ton of kids tell me they aspire to be film producers, directors or actors. Our culture is infatuated with the visual medium of film. After reading "Shine," I now have a perfect resource to recommend to these young adults to allow them to feel what it is like to be a film producer, and in particular one who has worked in TV for several decades throughout the changing role of television.
