Summary: Solid informational book, fascinating
Review: Don't let the small size of this book fool you. It gives a detailed description of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and how to use them to gain control over emotional problems such as fear, anxiety and addiction (as well as most others). That's a pretty tall order for any book to try to fill and especially so when so many different fields of psychology and self-help can't seem to agree on how to deal with emotional problems. It seems that a therapy that works for one person does not work for another person. So, how does this book try to fill the order of a simple system that anyone can learn and apply to help with any emotional problem? It does it by pointing out that emotional problems create certain definite changes in the body that can be treated with accupressure. So, the author takes you on a tour of accupressure points and techniques that change your body's reaction to the emotional stimulus and in doing so take the power away from uncontrolled emotional reaction.

The EFT techniques allow the user to treat themselves with a system that can be done quickly and privately at any time and in pretty much any situation. Working from the smaller problems, in order to gain experience and confidence, to the larger ones the techniques are detailed and include a troubleshooting section to help determine what to do when things are not progressing the way they should.

Well written, organized, easy to understand and easy to implement, it is a fascinating read. Recommended for those wrestling with gaining control over emotional issues.

Summary: Concise, Effective and "To the Point"!
Review: I enjoyed the book, Emotional Freedom. I found it to be a very informative, practical and concise work on EFT. I might add that I purchased 2 or 3 other very good books on the same topic and this one is the one that I chose to keep and utilize. It is a very handy resource!

Summary: This book is the answer to unsolvable problems
Review: I found this book to be very helpful. I had used the technique, thinking it wouldn't work. To my surprise, I found that it often did work. Many of the fears I had have disappeared or been subsided. I used to be terrified of steps with openings and, actually, had forgotten that I had this fear for over a year. Weirdly, once you don't have a fear anymore, it is hard to remember you had it in the first place.

I am still working on different aspects that are holding me back but as one layer is peeled away I start to see things more clearly and slowly the irrational thinking is starting to fade.

The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy. This is the core theme behind EFT techniques. I definitely recommend this book and recommend getting a video series to highlight the points for you. Because of pyschological reversal, I failed to use the techniques. I had this book for 2 years and didn't use the information to help myself. I bought a video tape series of EFT techniques and, because I read this book first, the videos made perfect sense and I was able to immediately begin use of the techniques. Now, I see people I don't know, with issues, and I literally want to help them tap away their problems.

It has been about a year and the techniques are still working. They work best if you tap right at the emotional point that causes you the greatest pain. For instance, if you get upset because someone tease you, you should say out loud why you are upset and then tap right at that moment. The tapping works to block that emotion.

I think tapping is what electro shock therapy tried to accomplish with less harmful results. Basically, electro shock is suppose to erase bad memories and leave good memories so that you can resume being the person you were meant to become. Electro shock, however, often erases ALL memories. With EFT, you just tap away the bad memories, bad feelings, etc. and hopefully you are left with a emotionally happy person. To reach this goal, it will take time because you will have to "tap" away at the years of harm caused to your emotional health.

I definitely recommend the process and the book.

Review: I found this book to be very helpful. I had used the technique, thinking they didn't work, only to find I didn't have the fear anymore. For instance, steps with openings in them, cause me great fear, but one day I went up and down the stairs with no fear and actually had to remind myself that those type of steps scare me.

Summary: The Book's Technique Works
Review: I used the technique in this book one day when I was quite angry. Using the technique for tapping, I brought the anger from a 10 to a 1 in less than 2 minutes. I was impressed and relieved. My Dad's book works!
