Summary: Great INTERVIEW and a Great INTERVIEW
Review: "Networking." Everyone's heard of it -- poeple use it all the time to find the right job or increase the sales of their businesses.

STOP RIGHT THERE, because 'Networking' has now been taken to another level. Some people are using a hybrid networking process to find the best doctor, house of worship, stock broker, travel agent, shoe repair store, plumber, and restaurant in their area.

Rick Frishmand and Jill Lublin are what I call networking gurus and they say "while networking is generally linked with the business world and job search, it can actually extend to virtually every facet of life - even dating - and it can have an enormous, positive and lasting impact on your happiness and success!"

They believe true networking is all about building and maintaining relationships and developing a team of people who support your efforts and proactively reach each others' respective goals.

I interviewed Jill Lublin on The Inside Success Show and loved every minute. She's a wizard when it comes to networking. Learn this key skill from her now and it will forever change your life!

Here are some other things I learned:

** How Jill Lublin learned the basics of networking as a publicist for the music industry
** Who are the people who can really build up your network
** Why you should always be ready with an elevator speech
** What to do with all of those business cards you bring home
** Where you must never go if you want to have a good reputation

If you want the ability to locate the best stores, find the right organizations to join, meet knowledgeable people to guide you in selecting a good soccer league for your child, pick the best doctor for a surgery you need, and generally get more of what you want out of life, then learning the magic of networking from these experts is what I highly recommend to you.

Summary: This book is for EVERYONE who wants to accomplish ANYTHING
Review: A very, very useful book. (Along with some really fun and interesting examples.) Too many of these books are aimed just at sales people. (Not that this book wouldn't be a giant help to sales people.) Not this one. This one is for everyone. This book really helps you accomplish more in your life, whatever that may be. Anything you want to accomplish will be made ten times easier if you follow the advice in this book. The techniques described seemed to work well. (Well, they worked for me. And quickly too!) I found the key message of this book is getting others to help you achieve what you want to achieve makes molehills out of mountains. The advice it gives is easy to follow, and even easier to put into practice. (You don't even have to fill in all the exercises, although I found that helpful.) Highly recommended.

Summary: Despite the "science," sincerity is still the key!
Review: Building a network is more science than art. So called public relations "experts" Rick Frishman and Jill Lublin team up to articulate to us what we should really intuit with common sense: networking is about system rather than creativity. I was a little let down at how few references there were to networking at a personal level. Despite the several references to healthcare, legal services, financial services, and real estate, little, if no, room is set aside for personal "stuff." Nonetheless, the book is useful on many levels - much like Anthony Robbins, we get a sense of "ah" when they deftly articulate what we should be doing - adding system to our meetings and making sure to follow up. The topics covered are broad in scope in that they include the Internet as well as organized network groups. Moreover, every section culminates in a small "how to" guide and self-reflection notes section - which in and of itself is really helpful. It is wonderful book to start with but a difficult one to live up to and achieve. What must be stressed is that it articulates what we instinctively know to be true - in this case it is system rather than imagination that takes the day - and don't forget sincerity is still the key.

Summary: Great advice!
Review: I have been in public relations and marketing all my life and it was great to come across a book that is so useful and practical on the topic of networking. Most of us think of networking for a job or for finding potential customers/clients in business, but Networking Magic shows us how to find the things we need in our personal lives -- a good doctor, the right restaurant, a tutor, an insurance agent, a realtor, etc. I will totally recommend this book to my network of people!
