Summary: WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL BOOK!
Review: I am a first year graduate student studying Clinical Psychology and have also (long ago) been a client of psychotherapy. The content of this book adheres more amazingly to its title than any other work I have ever read. The stories are coherent, entertaining, and enlightening. It is wonderful to know that even skilled and conscientious therapists struggle from time to time and that even the most awful moments in our work can be powerful professional learning experiences. I am certain that "Bad Therapy" will prove a wonderful read for professional, student, and novice alike. I plan to recommend it to my advisor as a required summer reading for all Ph.D. psychology students in our department.
PS: If you like this book you will also enjoy Kottler's earlier work entitled "On Being a Therapist"

Summary: Excellent Info
Review: This book offers the much needed assurance that as counselors, we are not alone in our work. Try as we might, we are falible as are all human beings. The recognition that even some of the biggest names in psychotherapy have had "bad" sessions, allows for others to feel more comfortable in their own work.
