Summary: A Means to many Successful Ends
Review: There are many books out on the market that present theories on how successful people live and operate. Many of them are very good and give you an insight into the world of the successful ladder climber. I personally gained a lot from a few notable greats in the areas of time and people management. Though they are useful I have usually be left wanting for something more or some secret ingredient that makes life run a bit better. How does someone like Jack Welch or Daniel Fuss stay on top? I know they are successful, but did they get their "game" from luck or something else. I didn't have a valid answer to that question until I read Harris Kern's book on discipline. Now it is plain to see that discipline was a base behavior for most if not all of these successful individuals.

How is Harris Kern's book different from other in the "self improvement" genre? The biggest difference is it isn't theoretical discussion about "what is" or what to do. The book helps lay the foundation from which all other succuess are derived. It helps you determine what "you" should do to be successful and get the most out of each minute of each day for the rest of your life. This is important because each persons needs are different from the next person. This means that roads to success are varied and specific to each individual. Simply put, Harris reminds us that we are our own masters and in full control of our lives. He inspires us to challenge ourselves to be better and to never accept anything less than success.

In the short period of time since reading this book I have been gain some invaluable benefits in my life. I'm less stressed and getting more done and feeling healthier. If you are like me and carry a title of Chief Procrastinator, this book is for you. If you are at the top of your game, this book is still for you.

Summary: Great book to get you where you want to go
Review: There are things that should have happened in my life that simply haven't happened. Usually, things didn't happen because I didn't put the effort and focus needed to get to where I wanted to go. If you have the same problem, read this book.

This book steps you thru the mindset and the organization needed to get things done - something I can definitely use!

Harris and Karen attack the nasty habits of procrastination, wasting time, not focusing on priorities. They take one angle, then another, then another, till you get to the core of focusing, setting priorities, then setting specific schedules and your mindset to achieve what you want to.

This is not a gimmick book, but a work that will make you change if you put your mind to it.

Summary: Become Your Personal Best!
Review: This book demonstrates a unique perspective on how to tap your inner self and develop high energy and structure in your life! With their real life results oriented approach, Kern and Willi delight you with generous doses of their personal and motivating stories of achievement, and outline a plan on which to build discipline in your life! Through common sense and realism not assumption!

If you are a book collector, like I am, this is a perfect addition to your library. It's one of those books that you just can't read once, but must re-read to garner all there is to know about the topic. It's destined to become a classic!

Summary: Dicsiplined Or Not, A Must Read
Review: Whether you consider yourself a disciplined person or not, you must read this book. If you consider yourself disciplined, as I do myself, it helps you affirm your methodology of attaining your goals through the discipline model you incorporate in your daily personal and professional life. If you don't think you are disciplined, like most people are not...it very simply demonstrates how to develop the necessary discipline to succeed.

For those of you who know Harris, I'm sure that you will agree that he is by far the most disciplined person you have ever met. This book tells it like Harris lives it. Karen Willi contributes great insights to family disciplines and brings a balance that many of us forget when we are so focused on our careers. The stuff in this book really works, and if you haven't discovered how to set and attain goals by managing your time and efforts then this book is a must read. One of my favorite quotes from the book is where Harris tells his readers to live their lives as if you are living your last year on earth.
