Summary: Practical And Ontainable Safety!
Review: I watch the CBS Morning Show religiously. I had seen Tom Patire several months ago and like his entire presentation. I emailed CBS and told them what I thought and they emailed me back and said that would have him on again in the near future, which they did and Tom was even better this time.

Well in the meantime I bought his book. I have read it over 3 times and each time I read it I get a sense of empowerment in regards to 'living safe!'

His Personal Protection Handbook is all about proactive safety and each page is filled with worthwhile, usable information. The book has NO fluff. It is pure information and excellent stories that keep you interested in the book the entire time you are reading it.

Safety books, as many say, are boring. Not this one! It is down to earth, 100 percent of well thought-out checklists, do's and don'ts, Tom's Tips, and subject matter that all ages can get something from. My daughter, who is 11, read the book and loved it. We know talk about safety at the dinner table and she constantly recites things from Tom Patire's book. And that is a very good thing!

So apples to apples this book is a good thing and it can only help. With the way the world is going 'help in the avenue of safety' is a refreshing but needed necessity! Buying it is the first step but following what is in it can make all the difference in the world.

Summary: Safety Made Simple!
Review: I watched the Life and Style segment with Tom Patire and Cynthia Garret. I was entralled with Tom's child safety tips and his unique theory of teaching your child to become an obstacle if they were to be abducted. I have never heard of this before so I was impressed to say the least.

This is what lead me to buy the book. All I can say is the book has it all in easy to follow safety tips for the whole family. I refered it to my two sisters and I will be referring the book to all my friends. Yes it's a very good source of safety tips but as a book it is very interesting the way Tom leads into how not to become a victim just by following simple steps.

It is a book that is well worth the price. Afterall the knowledge and know how of protecting oneself and the people you love is priceless, especially the children.

Summary: The Right Book At The Right Time!
Review: I went to a SNUG conference this Friday at my company and normal speaker types are good but sometime a bit too much. After lunch a new speaker was introduced and his name was Tom Patire. All I can say is he was unbelievable and he owned the room. He had everyone in the room sitting on the edge on their seats soaking in everything he was saying, showing and demonstrating in regards to personal safety. After his talk, which as extended to an hour plus, he stayed around to speak with everyone one on one and to sign autographs on his book.

The book which I also have read several times is outstanding. Tom Patire took a subject that many avoid and brought it to life in his book in an empowering, realistic way and yet the book does not use scare tactics. He calls his program Training for Life and in his book you can sense his love for life and his quest to keep people safe. The book is built off of a common sense approach but then takes it to the next level with safety checklists on everything think you can imagine. And the Tom Tips are great. One or two line on key topics which stick to your brain.

The book as said before is well done and very good, but you need to see Tom in person because he is electrifying. He was so good that the V.P. of our division is hiring Tom and Company for our team building sessions in January.

Imagine that, our company hiring America's Leading Safety Expert to teach the employees to live a safer life. What a way to show your concern!

THANKS GOES OUT TO MY COMPANY SUNGUARD FOR SHOWING YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR EMPLOYEES!

Summary: Outstanding!
Review: On Tuesday I saw Tom Patire's segment on Life and Style concerning Safe Holiday Shopping. The segment was very visual which made you understand how the criminal mind thinks. Tom's Tips on how to shop safe were easy to remember and his presence on TV makes he and his advice just stick in your mind, in a good way.

So after seeing the segment I went and bought the book. The book was just like the TV segment. It brings in real life events on how things occur and then it gives you a safe, non-violent way of avoiding, or if need be, dealing with the situation.

I must compliment all safety authors in general for taking the time and writing awareness type books because we are in turbulent times and we as a country can use all the help.

Tom's book is not by anyway scary. What it is empowering and educational. It is not a violent book but it is a heartfelt one by someone who shows his love of life and concern for his family in his writings and in his TV presentation. I have since ordered a few more copies to give away as holiday gifts. To me giving a safety book to someone I love shows how much I care about them.

Outstanding book by a genuine author!

Summary: Written For "Everyday People With Everyday Concerns"
Review: Yeah - Finally a book that takes the common sense approach by breaking down things we need to know or should not in a very easy to understand and remember format. My husband Lance bought me the book after he attending a Training for Life workshop at his place of business. He even had the author personally autograph it for me.

Many books are written for different reasons but this book even though written by a man is tailor for women and children. I was intrigued by the stories and I found the checklists of great value. Since I do travel allot for my cosmetic company I love the tips on how to make yourself less of an attractive target when on the road.

Apples to apples the book uses a common sense approach but were it differs from the more gruesome and hardcore safety/self defense books is that the author takes his time to explain safety in a sensitive but thorough manner. That is really the undertone of the book with the outside layer being that safety is obtainable, we just need a little guidance and to be more conscious or where we are and what we are doing.

Like in all aspect of life opinions are options and for me a 35 year old women that travels and is a mom to one beautiful child this book was what I was looking for. It didn't scare me, it educated me!
