Summary: MISLEADING
Review: After I was told about this book I decided to make the purchase. Not only was this book filled with common fodder, it is unfortunately also filled with fantasy stories. The common sense stuff was OK, but like I said it was common sense. Nothing new or groundbreaking info available. The author even uses the pages to promote his other business's. Very shameful and NOT what I purchased the book for.

I would not recommend this book as a safety book, the title is misleading. It is more of a fictional autobiography with promotional aspects littered in with common safety tips.

God Bless!

God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.

Enjoyed the talk and Tom's unique presentation.
His passion for what he does comes from his love and concern for his own child and has no bounds.
Bought the book and read it in one day.
Found it entertaining, informative and very helpful.
Love the checklists and the Tom's tips.
Recommended it to my friends who also read it and loved it.
Overall I give Tom, his talk and his book a 10plus!

Summary: THEE BOOK OF SAFETY1
Review: Being a single father I like many worry about my safety and my kids. I ordered the Personal Protection Handbook book about 1 week about from Amazon and just last night did I finally get a chance to read it.

The Personal Protection Handbook is about us, and for us, we the people, and the author gives it to the reader in a empowering and educational method. The books covers all the 'A,B, C,s' of safety, awareness and self protection but not in a beat them up mentality. Patire brings this book to life through well placed real life stories combined with safety checklists and outstanding Tom's Tips.

The reader is never left wondering with 'what if' scenarios but instead is drilled a positive, believable mindset of 'I can and I will!'

I have taken some martial arts in my life but I am no expert. What the Personal Protection Handbook does is, as said in the book , it " trains the brain!" I bought this book for myself, and I just order a few others for my brother and sister, because I do care about me and the ones I love and anything positive that can educate me to protect life is a needed necessity.

I have spent much money on other books that do not relate to safety but this book listed at $14.00 isn't a bargain it's a steal.

I believe in THEE almighty and I also believe in the information in THEE BOOK!

Summary: Everyone's Safety!
Review: I am the D.A.R.E. Officer for my Department and one of my jobs is to see out new material to help keep the community safe. I heard about Tom Patire's book at a national conference for Law Enforcement and that let me to buy it.

I have been an officer for 18 years and in fairness to Author Patire I must acknowledge his splendid job in accumulating the most comprehensive safety book I ever read. The Personal Protection Handbook has everything one needs to know and much, much more.

Mr. Patire included common safety tips but then did sections on subjects like bad guests and bad guys and his Know & GO material for children is outstanding. In fact I just applied to his company to become a certified instructor so I can better help keep the kids of in my community allot safer.

He talks in the book about different stories of clients or people he knows and how and why they got themselves into certain situations. What I like about the stories is they are interesting but don't capitalize on the fear word. This book was well written for mainstream people and lets hope more authors follow Mr. Patire's way of writing and learn to educate people through their books not scare them into not reading them.

I plan to mention this book and the author at my talks and give credit were credit is do since I will be using many of Mr. Patire's tips in my talk. So if you are anybody or everybody this safety book is for you.

Summary: A Safe Interest!
Review: I bought the book after hearing Tom Patire speak at the National Headstart Association. I found his talk to be very 'eye' opening and yet he left out all the scare tactics and statistics that usually turn people off to this subject.

My husband, who is a police officer, read Tom's book and said that now his department uses it as a book of reference for their safety talks. He said that never did he see so much worthwhile material put in one book and written in a way that keeps the reader interested in being safe.

The book has many different checklists put together in an easy to read format that allows you to retain the information. That is what makes the book so good. My daughter who is in college now actually read the book in one sitting because she found it intriguing. Imagine that a teenager who finds safety intriguing!

I have since joined Tom Patire's monthly newsletter, which is free, and updates you on different aspects of safety each month. It is very good and ever month it comes right to your email box.

To sum this book up, if you are like me and you look to avoid potential dangerous situations, then this is the book for you. It is not one of those aggressive books on self defense that give you a false sense of confidence. It's as Tom says "Being Safe By Being Smart

Summary: Amusing Read
Review: I found this book amusing & holding my attention throughout. As far as a safety book, I think there was more common sense stuff than anything groundbreaking or new. Typical retread saftey tip info however like I said it was amusing. The stories although I believe some to be fictitious were enjoyable.

I recommend the book to read on the pure merit that it wont hurt you but don't expect anything spectacular.

Summary: A Book of Life Saving Tips
Review: I have been watching Tom Patire on the Life and Style show and after seeing him for the second time I bought his book. All I can say is it is very easy to understand and retain. The tips about child safer on how to become an obstacle during an abduction is brillant.

I practice those techniques everyday with my kids so those techniques alone are worth the price of the book. When you see Tom on TV you get a feel for his love of his family and his want to do good for people. When you read the book you can see it was well thought out so the ordinary person can understand all the information and put it to use in their everyday life.

I don't write many testimonals but this one I had to do because the material in it can make all the difference in the world in saving your or your childs life!

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: I recently saw Tom Patire on the Jack and Allie Talk Show speaking about Home Invasion. His delivery and demeanor grabbed my interest immediately.

This led me to buy his book and read it in one night. The book is very good boarding excellence. Tom's writing takes an
everyday approach to safety and puts all explanations in an easy to read and follow format. Tom Tips are great and the short stories of real life events draw you into the book allowing you to understand safety in a nonsense way.

Safety books are usually fear based and scary, but not this one. Tom Patire's book makes you feel good about being safe because it explains that safety isn't about being tough and mean, it's about being smart and aware. That is what makes this book a great book. The author shows he cares about life and gives the best advice on avoiding situtions not confronting them!

The book has sections for all ages and all genders and that is what makes this book exceptional. If safety is a topic that has been on your mind like it has been on mine, then this book will help put those thoughts at ease.

Summary: Safety Made Easy!
Review: I too saw the segment on "Burglar Proofing Your Home" on the Ali and Jack Show. I watch that show everyday and I love their new format. I was very impressed with Tom Patire's segment and I love the way he articulated his words with his "Jersee" accent.

The segment made me think about my home and the Florida incident made me think more about the safety of my children. So I order The Personal Protection Handbook from Amazon and then last night when my kids were watching the Grammies I sat in the next room and read the book.

I really enjoyed the entire concept of the book. It was like reading a drama but yet it was more to real life. I found it to be very easy to understand and it broke down the basics into the very basics. The book has hundreds of tips to keep all ages safe and the unique stories link the entire book together.

I like the placement of the Tom's Tips as well as all the safety checklists. What Tom Patire does different in his book is he talks to the reader and explains the why's and how's and then leads you down the positive path of realizing that true safety really is in our own hands.

So in closing I say the book is worth far for then its listed price and the reason for reading it lies in a person's love for life as well as their love for others.

Summary: Enjoy The Article and Loved The Book
Review: I was skimming through my copy of August Redbook when I noticed the article on being a victim and the expert advice from personal safety by Tom Patire. After reading the article I ordered Tom's book.

The book was like the advice in the article but in a much broader and enlightening form. Finally some one wrote a book for people, like me, to be educated and advised on personal safety issues. The book is great in information and the safety checklists and Tom's Tips are easy to read, follow and remember. Excellent short stories on true to life events that happen to unsuspecting people. One story was similar to what happen to my neighbor when she was robbed.

Tom Patire went against the grain on this because he picked the road of empowering people to be safe not give them false beliefs of becoming instant 'ninjas'. Apples to apples this is a unique book un to its self because it gives the A,B,C's of safety as well as basic incite and savvy into the different types of 'bad" that exist in today's society

The book let me to order Tom's Training For Life tapes for me and my daughter so we get an idea of the type of techniques he refers to in the book.
