Rating: Summary: Not enough description Review: First of all I have to say that I won't criticize the method itself but the lack of information and photos in this book. It's so poorly described and, when you know that if you don't do an exercise well it actually creates wrinkles, the lack of photos, both prove that the author already plans to sell a video soon, as she does for exercise for women. I read the same bad comments about her book about women and facersise. It's ashame as a few more photos and clear explanations wouldn't have cost the author more. But we'll have to buy tha basic and advanced DVD when it is published. Not very nice behaviour. So, if you really want to use this method, don't buy the book and wait untill the DVD or video tapes are released so you can save money. hope this help...
Rating: Summary: DYNAMITE BOOK!!!! Review: I just turned 40 and started to notice the lack of tone in my face. I had things starting to go south on me. I've been working out in the gym for the past few years and my trainer suggested to me that I pick up this book and try out the exercises. Being a gym advocate and knowing that exercise is good for the body, I picked up FACEBUILDER FOR MEN, hoping that face exercises would do the same for my face.
In just a few minutes a day for the past 4 months, I have been able to turn the clock back by at least 10 years. My body always has looked good (because I exercise it). Now my face does, too, because of the exercises I learned in the book. Don't let ANYONE tell you that exercises for the face don't work. I'm living testimony that they do.
Rating: Summary: The Exercises are the best part. Review: Just out of curiosity I picked this book up and found it very
interesting, I had never thought of doing Face Exercises, but it makes sense and the exercises are easy to do. I would
recommend it to anyone who has an interest in taking good care of themselves, taking care of the face is just another step in the process.
Rating: Summary: SEEING IS BELIEVING Review: My wife bought this book for me about six weeks ago. She does face exercises and I know they work, but I never thought about doing them myself. However, after her proding me for a week or two, I started, under protest, to keep peace in the family. All I can say now is WOW. If I didn't see it myself, I wouldn't have believed it. I had my wife take a picture of me before I started to see if I could notice the changes and now, six weeks later, I'm really amazed at the difference. Much stronger jawline, more sculpted cheekbones - just a great change for me. The book is easy reading, well written, and entertaining. But the real benefit here is the exercise regimen laid down by the authors. I couldn't be more pleased - and surprised, at the results. This book is a keeper.

Rating: Summary: IT WORKS FOR ME!!!! Review: The Good - The bottom line is the 11 exercises seem to work if done consistently 1 or 2x a day. It only takes a few minutes to get thru a set once you figure out how to do them ( a video would make a nice companion to the book). I've experienced many of the benefits it touts (straightening/shortening the nose, reducing crows feet & circles under the eyes, fleshing out a thin/gaunt looking face;) and I can tell the difference when I stop doing the exercizes. The Bad - To get to the exercises you have to wade thru a pep talk on superficiality and the importance of appearance. Really? If I weren't vain or if appearance didn't matter, why would I bother to read this book?!? Also, there's too much about how it works. I imagine most guys - like me - coudln't care HOW it works, as long as it does. Also, a one page chart of the exercises would have been useful to refer to so I don't have to flip thru the book every single day. Finally, the skin care/nutrition section at the end seems to be lifted directly out of a men's magazine. Most of it is stuff you've heard before - stay out of the sun, eat better, drink more water, take supplements, sleep longer and deeper. Its hard not to agree with it, its helpul enough make you at least skim through it, but too generic to be of much use. For example, it lists the latest skincare products, but doesn't rate which ones work and which ones are bunk. It's details like that that make this a frustrating book with some very good exercises.
Rating: Summary: Useful but short on explanations Review: This book describes 10 relatively simple ways in which you can train your face muscles in order to look younger and make your face more attractive. The exercises should be done twice a day and last about 25 minutes.
Most of the book, however, is about how important it is for you to look young and attractive. I wish the author had spent more time explaining the techniques. True, there are photographs (of a man who doesn't have to care about wrinkles and sagging face muscles), but the explanations that accompany the photographs are insufficient. You will need to try the exercices and practice them for a while before you really understand how to do them. The techniques are simple but still you will have to figure out how to apply them.
I also warn readers that most of the exercices involve visualisations and gestures that are supposed to stir the subtle energies of the body (what the Chinese call "Chi", the mysterious fluid acupuncturists work on with their needles). So if you are allergic to New Age stuff or your ability to concentrate and imagine things is very poor, you may have trouble using the techniques described in this book.
One issue Carole Maggio doesn't talk about is the problem of the lines that may appear as a result of training. Briefly, there is plenty of serious stuff that should have been treated and just isn't.
Rating: Summary: Great Results, however... Review: This book works!! I am so happy when I look in the mirror to see what this has done for me. It has toned and tightened my face. I'm young, but didn't have that muscle toned face I wanted. So it's great, the whole book. However, only 5% of the book is useful; the exercises. The remaining 95% is just full of annoying repeative (really, she repeats the same thing in different form in every chapter) And it really does go on, and on, and on, and on. She keeps mentioning why its great you bought the book and how every thing bad will change once you do the exercises. The health and diet section is really stock information. I guess she had to pad it out with content to make it thicker than a magazine. All in all, buy it. It works, and even though she has her annoying parts (like talking to you like a boyscout: "Now boys, listen to me,...." and tends to babble on, the exercises are amazing!! If you thought you couldn't get a sculpted face, think again!!
Rating: Summary: Thank Goodness for Carole Maggio!!! Review: Well Men, I'm sure a few of you out there have found this title by accident. My advice - order it now!!! It's rare that I ever take time out to rate or comment on a book unless it's changed my life. This one certainly has!!! I'm far from an old man but mother nature was catching up to me. I started searching online for a natural, non-electric, way to stimulate my facial muscles to keep them in shape. Bingo!!! This book has not only shaved a few years off of my age but has all of my friends asking me what's different about me. Took me a few weeks to figure out it was Carole Maggio and Mike Gianelli that have made the difference. My only challenge to this book is that I've yet to be able to do all the exercises in this book in 10 minutes. It actually takes me about 25 minutes 2 x's a day but, to keep my face in shape - so what. After all, we spend hours and dollars to keep our bodies in shape. The eleven exercises are well illustrated and easy to do. What's a few dollars spent on a book for keeping your face in shape and avoiding plastic surgery worth to you?
