Rating: Summary: Even I could understand it Review: Heard about the book thru a press release and bought it for my Dr. girlfriend. With 30 hr shifts 3 times a week, she feels miserable and has completely fallen off the nutrition bandwagon. She doesn't have a weight problem yet but knows she is teetering on the edge if she doesn't get her eating habits in order. To that end, she was able to quickly read the book and in a couple days, use it to restock her fridge and pantry with food - it tells you exactly what to buy (brands, size, etc.) Most importantly, the whole book is crafted to be understandable - it's not really so much a diet book but a strightforward guide to change the way you eat and in turn the way you'll feel and look. Cool gift to give. Highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: It's Realistic! Review: I bought this book because I had heard it was easy to understand, easy to follow and that it was funny! All those things are true about this book. I felt so confused about this diet and that diet. I just wanted to start eating healthier and I wanted my family to start eating healthier too. What's so great about this book is that it is very specific about what brands of food are o.k. to put into your body. (There is a list of brands so you don't have to do all the research!) More importantly, it gives you easy formulas to figure out how to put this plan in action specifically for YOU according to your activity level and your weight loss goal...The recipes/meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner are super easy and really tasty. My family especially likes the Veggie Tacos...I've learned that a 300calorie-500calorie meal is alot of food when the food is healthy food! Also, I'm more aware of my portion sizes! This book is REALISTIC because the author knows we are human and once in awhile we need a treat...(dark chocolate anyone?) Just buy this book because the worst thing that will happen is that you will eat healthier and drop some unnecessary weight along the way. And, the best part...you will feel great!

Rating: Summary: This is not only a diet book...It's a CHANGE YOUR LIFE BOOK Review: I have read a lot of diet/nutrition books and this is the first book I read cover to cover...I couldn't put it down. It made me realize that I have a lot of unhealthy habits and gave me easy ways to change my eating habits along with grocery lists and a day timer to create a very healthy diet plan with the added benefit of losing weight and feeling great. The book takes everything you need to know and puts it in a very simple step by step format and adds laugh out loud humor making it a very enjoyable read. I am telling all my friends they need this book!
Rating: Summary: Mission accomplished Review: Kerry accomplished the goal she set out to do which was what to do to be healthier and slimmer. She tells us what good nutrition is and how to attain it in a simple and easy to follow format.I especially like the following two sections: 1: Page92: how to figure out calories and how to tweak them for personal goals and 2: Page 208: Cheat sheet #5: She makes it easy to know what a portion is and how many calories it contains. I would recommend this book for both first time and repeat dieters.
Rating: Summary: Effective and "user friendly" Review: There seems no end to the flood tide of "how to" books on dieting and nutrition. So it comes as a distinct pleasure to pick up Kerry McLeod's The Last Diet Book Standing and find that it's far and away more effective and "user friendly" than the usual title dedicated to help control weight and improve personal eating habits. Readers will benefit from McLeod's nutrition organizer, recommendations for designing a personal makeover plan to improve one's habits for a healthier lifestyle, and much more. Spiral-bound to lay flat for easy reference when filling out or consulting the recommended meal plans, The Last Diet Book Standing is an excellent, step-by-step resource for molding one's life and health for the better.
Rating: Summary: It won't be the last diet book standing on my bookshelf Review: This book gives lots of information in a condensed form for those who don't know what they are supposed to be eating. There is a formula for those who don't know how much they should eat. There is a formula for figuring out how quickly you can expect to lose weight. After that you are on your own with the many journal pages that make up most of the book. I notice that other reviews call it simple - I don't think so. It is a solid bite of reality, but I have this information in other diet books.

Rating: Summary: A realistic--and funny!--health lifestyle guide Review: This little spiral book has just earned a permanent place on my home bookshelf. This is why...all the info (of which I easily read in just an evening) will be just as true when I look at it ten, fifteen years from now as it is today. What I love about it is it's not only easy to "get" and use--it's REALISTIC. This is not another fad diet book telling me to cut out ALL carbs or sugar or meat or dairy. It's a balanced and SIMPLIFIED guidebook to getting a variety of whole foods into your diet and educating yourself about how to choose the best food (whether it has carbs, sugar, dairy, etc. or not) Here's another thing: personally, my primary interest in reading this was not to learn how to lose weight.....ie. don't be deterred by thinking "I don't need to be 'dieting'". I read it because I'm a health nut and always looking for a simplified LIFESTYLE guide that will help me look and feel my best. That's what this book gave me. Not to mention the built-in grocery lists and health plan worksheets that I can carry in my purse--great!
