Summary: This book never leaves my kitchen counter!
Review: Finally, a low carb book written by a professional chef and not a registered dietician. George uses ingredients you can find anywhere, unlike other low carb cook books (soy protein isolate?). My daughter, who is not low carbing, loves every Stella recipe I've made so far, especially the onion rings. George, keep the Stella recipes coming!

Summary: Stella's Book Is Awesome
Review: George Stella's book is a winner: 1. It is very easy to read, well written and edited, attractively laid out with lots of pictures, color and black and white, and overall it's a very sharp package. 2. George's personal story is told in detail, from his heart, and everyone needs to read it to fully experience what this man has been through and accomplished. 3. The recipes are laid out and sectioned perfectly, with brief introductions and easy to follow directions. 4. George explains his program, Stella Style, in detail and I felt like light bulbs were going off in my head while I was reading. 'Stella Style' is really an amazing breakthrough. 5. His wife Rachel appears throughout the book with some really great sections on their before and after lives and shopping habits, for example. 6. George also discusses Dr. Atkins and I don't want to give away anything -- but his section on Atkins is very enlightening. 7. It is an emotional experience, George is very candid and sincere -- and moving -- and yet there is an incredibly happy ending. It is about family, love of food, love of others and in many ways it exceeded my already high expectations. George's book is now the centerpiece of our coffee table and we will be buying more copies for friends and family.

After eliminating my coffee habit with the help of a wonderful coffee substitute called soyfe e I'm feeling so much better. Its made from soybeans which help lower cholesterol and promote strong bones. You can google under so ycoffe e.c om to find it. There is an interesting free feeling to this book, as though George is in a new place too. A wonderful, wonderful book. Highly recommended!!

Summary: Tasty and Easy
Review: George Stella's Livin' Low Carb Cookbook is great! Not only are the recipes delicious, but are easy to follow. I've tried several already, and my family loves what I've made. I rate this book a ten out of ten.

Summary: Definitely buy this book!
Review: I agree with all the other reviewers. Having read about George on many other websites, and having watched him on TV, I bought the book and I must say, I'm amazed. His cheesecake recipe is fantastic: creamy, dense and real. His scampi recipe is the one I've been looking for for years...the one with more than enough garlic but which also includes other ingredients that make it "Special!". It was DELICIOUS, and who needed pasta after that! And his mock goldfish crackers make me forget about the real ones. Who ever knew that cheese could puff up that way?
I'm eating real, fresh food, and losing weight at the same time. I have many other low carb cookbooks, but this one is now my favorite. Buy the book, you won't regret it.

Summary: Wonderful book for Lowcarbers!
Review: I got this book about a week ago and have already made a few recipes that were amazing(can you say CHEESECAKE)! This book is very creative but also easy to follow, no weird ingredients that you will never find. George also gives different alternatives to some recipes, so you can adjust them if you need to, or try other ingredients. I can't wait to try everything else, George and Rachel rock! This book makes it simple and satisfying to live low carb...and love it! THANKYOU!

Summary: Low Carb and Lovin' George's Cookbook!!
Review: I watch George's show every week and he is probably one of the only shows where I will actually attempt a recipe and it turns out like on television. This cookbook is amazing. There is variety for all meal times. He is an inspiration for the low carb way of living and is a great example of what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it.

I have this cookbook and will buy any other cookbook that he writes. I just wish that all low carb cookbooks were this good.

Summary: Best Low Carb Book I've Seen Yet!
Review: Over the years I have collected tons of cookbooks and am lucky if I made one thing out of half of them. This is not the case with George Stella's Cookbook. I have only had the cookbook for a little over a week and have tried a dozen of the recipes so far. I have to stay I loved each one and will continue to try the rest of them. I can't wait for him to come out with his next book. Each recipe is very easy and tastes Great!! If anyone is on the fence about ordering this book it is worth 100 times the price. I am sure if you buy this book you will keep it right on your kitchen counter like I do and not stuffed on a selve with all your other cookbooks. Thanks George Stella!

Summary: Simply Fantastic
Review: Stella's cookbook is, BY FAR, the best in the low carb category. The recipes are extremely easy, delicious, and made with normal, ordinary ingredients. The most outrageous ingredient is probably soy flour, which is hardly odd or difficult to locate in any grocery store.

The tequila chicken is my favorite so far, but everything has been phenomenal. A cook of any level will enjoy making these recipes and everyone around the table will enjoy eating them!

Summary: Addition At The "Top" of Low-Carb Cooking
Review: This is one of the best of the plethora of low carb cookbooks in the train that this glycemic index relevaltion has created.

Why one of the best? How about a family of four losing a combined total of 560 pounds on it? How about a gourmet chef who gives us what worked with them to achieve this? How about unique approach and recipes which apply this?

I was attracted to this after watching George on his FoodNetwork program. He is very humble, yet reliable credentialed chef who has experiemnted with many twists and combos of good cooking yet with low carb.

It avoids lots of the scientific stuff but emphasizes what must happen in pantry and cooking to achieve a healthier diet habit. Sugar and carbs are of course the focus. His approach is doable and the taste is exceptional. I especially like his approach with heavy cream, butter and low-carb foods.

What I find especially attractive is his breakfast section, one of the toughest meals of the day for most of us to habitually maintain healthy and yet one of the most important. So there is such variety and ease of prep here, with great muffin and omelet and blinis and quiche. Great advice to make them up in advance, freeze and then micro each morning with coffee. Try: "Ham and Cheddar Morning Muffins" or "George's Gorgeous Macadamia Banana Muffins" or "On-Hand Omelet."

The other menu sections are equally creative, filling and easy to prep: Grilled Country-Style Pork Ribs with Bourbon Barbecue Sauce; Ham and Mock Potato Soup; Chocolate Pecan Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting; Jicama Matchstick Fries; Minute Steak Salad; Tequilla Chicken;

There are some 125 recipes in this collection, with easy to follow instructions and advice as well as some color photos. I appreciate the choice of paperback and resultant price for this. Great addition to one's collection or as only low carb source. Highly recommended.
