Rating: Summary: This book will set you free Review: I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any woman who has ever struggled with her weight or self-image. Before reading this book, I had been trapped in a hopeless cycle of self-loathing, destructive eating behaviors and depression; I had been anorexic and also overweight and was repeatedly failing any and every diet I tried within days of starting it. This book set me free, because in it Lisa Bevere exposes our culture's lies about body image and worth through the light of God's truth and love. This isn't a diet book, it's a book about coming to understand your worth in Christ and giving Him control over your weight and eating. Though I am still a work in progress and am planning to read the book again, I cannot overstate how powerfully it has affected me and how wonderful it is to be free from the tyranny of dieting and low self-esteem. Again, if you have ever struggled with your weight or body image, read this book!
Rating: Summary: This book will set you free Review: This is a great book that really helps the reader put food and spirit in line. I highly recommend it. In some parts she (the author) gets very spiritual (which is good) but it can be confusing so you have to focus. When I am feeling down sometimes I go to read it and later I find myself putting things in correct perspective. GREAT for those who have any type of self-esteem, image, or food issue.

Rating: Summary: Fresh New Things about Diet Review: What I really like about this book is because it's unique, with fresh and new things about diet problem. I have read many many books and articles about diet and stuff, but what I read in Lisa's book is so fresh and new. Other books just keep repeating the same thing over and over again, but not this book. It really change me from the inside. When I was a child I use to be overweight and receive mocking. When I was teenager I lost the fat and did not have problem with weight until after I gave birth to my baby. I became overweight again and since than, the bad memories of mocking and rejection came back to haunt me.
This book works as a consolation for me, it heals my hurting soul. It also show me how to reach my normal weigh goal, but now, not for the wrong reason.
I also like to read Lisa's own experience, I could trust her because "she's been there and done that".
