Rating: Summary: Success and Well-being Take Time and Effort Review: "Attitude is Everything" says Keith Harrell in his book. Jack Canfield elaborates about that throughout the pages of his book as he lays out his 64 Success Principles. Learn the basics of success -- "reject rejection"; think positively; overcome your self-defeating beliefs, fears and habits; don't settle for second best; set your goals, and find someone who can help you achieve these goals; etc, etc.
Anyone who is serious about getting ahead in his life needs to get this book and keep it among other MUST HAVES such as, for example, "Can We Live 150 Years?" by Mr. Tombak. See some excerpts from this book + sume free ebooks at www.starthealthylife.com . Dr. Tombak is a completely different "species" - he focuses on one's physical and mental health, longevity, and general well-being. Keep both volumes and treat them as your bibles for success and well-being.
Rating: Summary: This Tape Set is Fantastic! Review: I highly recommend this tape set. Jack Canfield is an excellent speaker, and the information contained in this program is extremely informative, motivational, inspiring, and wonderfully presented. I wished that this program had been available years ago! I plan on listening to this program again and again. It is excellent! Thank you, Jack, for creating such an exceptional program!
Rating: Summary: If you could only read one book Review: If you could only read one self-help book, make it this one. Funny, motivational, inspirational. It will make you laugh, make you cry, make you think and make you say to yourself, I can get what I want. If you simply follow the advice, you will get what from where you are to where you want to be. It is over 400 pages, but it is so well written that you simply fly through it the first time.
I'm not recommending it to my friends - I'm buying it and giving them a copy.
The cost $24.95 (before the Amazon discount). The value - priceless.
Rating: Summary: Great motivational book... Review: If you want learn how to plan and reach your goals, as well as how to deal with failure or roadblocks, this may be the book for you. Overall, it is extremely inspirational and motivational, and having read it from beginning to end, I do have much more enthusiasm and optimism about goals, success, and life in general. However, I only gave this book three stars because upon closer observation, it is merely a collection of other books' ideas. In every chapter and sub-chapter, Canfield references the books and programs of other authors, including his own, and encourages readers to investigate them further. So in a way, it's a giant collection of advertisements and self-promotion, with the material serving only as a brief overview of those books, programs, authors, etc.
Rating: Summary: Superb Book... Review: Ignore the creature calling himself "S Freedman." You certainly don't need to be dragged into the sewer by a whiny little, 'woe is me' bag of garbage like him; do yourself a favor, as the book states, remain positive and acheieve all of your goals and aspirations.
Rating: Summary: No Self-Serving "Secrets" - Just Good Advice Review: Jack Canfield has mastered the art of using his many years of reading publications by those who have made positive influences on the world and his many years of teaching their combined methods to millions of people around the world into a marvelous book of "real-world" self help.
The book starts at the heart of why most of us haven't managed to feel successful and that is taking personal responsibility for our lives. The books takes that simple philosophy and guides the reader through insightful and easy to understand exercises and flows right into the methods of lifting your own self into motivating and rewarding life changes.
Even if your bookshelves are like mine...lots of self help books that in combination are a great asset...you will not shelve this one but put it on your reference table for frequent information.
No matter who's self-help methods you prescribe be it ROBBINS, KIYOSAKI, HOPKINS, ZIGLAR or the great CARNEGIE this one will only help make their methods better for your life.
Rating: Summary: A powerful book Review: Jack Canfield takes his wealth of knowledge about success and shares it in one amazingly well-thought-out book. It would be difficult to read this book and NOT benefit in some way from it. You could buy 100 books on the topic or just this one...it's your choice!

Rating: Summary: Response to Criticisms of This Book Review: On religious criticism: There have been some negative reviews here on the basis that Canfield's book endorses selfishness and consumerism. I find this to be unfounded considering that Canfield never tells you WHAT you should want. He simply asks you to list YOUR goals and desires, whatever they may be. Sure, some people will want Porsches and million dollar bathrooms, but that reflects those readers--not Canfield's book. In fact, several of the principles in the book are specifically about serving others. Principle 61 is "Give More to Get More," 62 is "Find a Way to Serve," and 64 is "Empower Yourself by Empowering Others." It's also important to note that Canfield's audience is an international one with a huge diversity of cultures and traditions. The principles are therefore best explained in ways that don't require adherence to any specific religion and which allow readers to incorporate their spiritual beliefs as they see fit.
On the criticism that this book simply summarizes other people's ideas: there is some truth to this remark, but (1) that only increases the credibility of the principles, since other reputable authors obviously agree with them; (2) the reader greatly benefits from the way Canfield has organized all that material into a set of principles which work sequentially, so that each principle builds upon the last; and (3) you save money by having to buy only one book which has them all instead of having to buy several individually. And Canfield not only clearly acknowledges the work of others when he references it, but openly recommends that his readers investigate those other works further.
So unless someone points out some more valid drawbacks to the book, I would happily recommend "The Success Principles" to anyone interested in achieving a more fulfilling life--however they define it.
Rating: Summary: Information Overload Review: Though Canfield makes some good points and presents some important information in this book, there's just too much here, a lot of it unnecessary, even boring. Many anecdotes, personal stories, and stories of others could have, and should have, been left out. While reading the book, I often felt as if I were simply just indulging Canfield while he talked about himself. The book is also suspiciously similar to the Har-Money Cards, which have been out for at least ten years. If you want 64 prosperity principles presented simply and eloquently, get the Cards, and don't waste days with Canfield's book.
