Rating: Summary: A Wonderful and Inspiring Book Review: I can't imagine anything more arrogant than a celebrity sharing her "wisdom and experiences" and telling the everyday person how he or she should live. This a woman who has been a supermodel/actress since she was a teenager. She's traveled the world and made ungodly amounts of money off of her looks. She's married to a doctor and lives in a mansion. Her whole life has been paved with privilege and artifice. Now, she thinks she can tell the average person how to have a more meaningful and fulfilling life? Sorry, I think before anyone else can do that for me, he or she should walk a mile in my shoes... and not on the runway!!
Rating: Summary: Powerful Inspirations Review: Kathy Ireland gives practical suggestions for many areas of life. She also tells how her religion has inspired her. Even though I am of a different religtion, I found this book interesting and uplifting. Only some atheists would go into a frazzle over it.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful and Inspiring Book Review: Kathy Ireland has taken a launch from a beautiful face to a busy wife and mom and a savvy business woman. She gives us wisdom from learned exeriences in a truthful and spiritual delivery. While she has gained stardom through her work and career, she has stayed grounded, real and true to her faith. While many celebrities are hung up on their money, popularity and success, KI continues to share her love, generosity and faith with the world. I am proud to see a young American woman with the poise, dignity and wisdom that Kathy Ireland posseses. Read her book. You will see how hard she has worked to make this world a better place.
Rating: Summary: Powerful Inspiration Review: Kathy stated that her father always advised her to under promise and over deliver. That is exactly what Kathy does in her book, Powerful Inspiration. It's broken down into eight simple lesson. While the lessons themselves are nothing new, a gentle reminder from someone as beautiful as Kathy, makes them more interesting. The book is a quick read, and the message will defintely go over well with individuals of the Christian faith. Kathy adds credibility to the book, by providing personal examples from her own life as a supermodel, mother and entrepeneur.
Rating: Summary: Very good and very inspiring. Kathy is great! Review: The first time I read this book, I really didn't like it. It didn't "change my life" and I didn't find it that interesting. But recently I decided to read it again, and my opinion has completely changed. Kathy is very wise, and it shows here. This book features eight lessons that really can "change your life" if you let them! It uses stories from Kathy's life while teaching you and giving you all of her wisdom. If you are a Kathy Ireland fan, you really have to own this book. Even if you aren't a fan of hers, you will still love this book. I have been a Kathy fan for a long time, and when I heard this book was coming out I was very exited. When I got the book in the mail I read it, and like I said, I didn't really like it, but now that I have read it a second time I think it is great. Kathy is truly beautiful both internally and externally. I think everyone should buy a copy of this book, because I am sure you can read it more than once. If you use the eight lessons in this book in your everyday life, it can help you a lot...5 stars (* * * * *)
Rating: Summary: Powerful Inspirations. Review: The key word here is powerful. Not only has Kathy Ireland extracted time-tested truths and applied them to modern times, she impresses upon us that the quality of our communication equals the quality of our results. And she has been fearless in doing so.
Rating: Summary: Sorry, I cannot embrace you, Kathy Review: Though I haven't read this book, I feel the circumstances are all too cliche such that I can articulate some kind of review. Essentially, I agree with the reviewer who feels that Ms. Ireland, even if in possession of good intentions and wisdom, may be a little out of her league in offering life strategies to the rest of us. Kathy Ireland has received an overabundance of blessing in her life, and may not be in a position to coach the average guy or those who've endured enormous hardship and struggle with overcoming the legacy of a compromised life. Additionally, I've applied so many precepts to my life in the hope of improving my personal situation, but sometimes life isn't that simple. And I would not be honest if I didn't say I was tired of hearing about celebrities and their excessive fortunes, Ireland's Christian faith notwithstanding. I'm no socialist, but these stories confirm the fact that life is unfair and that a disproportionate amount of fortune is concentrated into the hands of too few people. Kathy, if you really want to share something with the world, I could use a few dollars.
Ditto to Brooke Shields, who feels her several-month bout with Post-partum Depression justifies her writing a book about it.
These folks don't know true suffering.
