Summary: Witty and imaginitive with a creative format.
Review: As a 12-year-old, I have read an uncountable number of books, several in the form of diaries or journals, letters, or the like. While these were all very good, so far I believe Tru Confessions was the best. It has a touch of humor, mixed with a dash of thought and insight. Trudy, or Tru for short, keeps a computer diary. This makes for all sorts of strange and cute symbols. Meanwhile her brother Eddie is disabled. Throughout the book Tru is searching for a cure for Eddie, which in itself leads to touching and downright hilarious situations. To mix things up a bit, the cable company puts out a Want ad for a tape to fill a half-hour time slot. Tru, always big on creating movies, starts her video right away. For a while it's all she can think of. When a mysterious person on the net, called DeeDee, makes contact with Tru, she is determined to stay in touch. Throughout the book, there are several plot twist, and new problems, and the ending is a surprise. However, none of the "several" plots makes the book confusing; they in fact enhance it! This is one one of the best books I've ever read (and trust me, I've read alot!)

Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK!
It's terrible Disney has to make a ...loose-version of this awesome book! Tru is the coolest character and I love it!
Eddie is nice, sweet and has aphysexia, where he doesn't have a lot of oxygen. They're twins (Tru's a blond, Eddie's a brunette)and Tru is dying to have her own TV show! When a teen contest comes around to have your own show, Tru does anything to win and she does. But she's struggling with her twin. I think Tru is REALLY nice to her brother, but can be a jerk.
Janet Tashjian did a good job and this needed to be a Newbery or at least a Newbery Honor! Well, that's pretty much it!

Summary: Princess in the Spotlight
Review: I never knew that this book existed until I watched the Disney Channel Original Movie (which was really good). I bought the book and wasn't able to put it down. I know that I'm 18 and the book is for kids but I don't care. It was so good. It's written from Tru's perspective and appears to be taken from her computer journal. It even has some computer symbols. The book is funny and sad. It really makes you think. Highly recommended.

Summary: Tru Confessions
Review: I really like the novel. It was very descriptive with people, places, and things. It also had a wonderful selection of characters with great personalities. The explainations really caught my attention. It's excellent reading.

The best part of the book was when Tru was showing her film to her friends. I thought that it was funny how they all thought that it was borning. And Eddy was very bored except for when he saw himself.

I think that the most vivid story elements were Tru and her imagination. She just had such realistic dreams. As well as the steps she took to persue them. She had downfalls and up points. Another vivid element was the theme of the story. Tu wanted to succeed in the filming industry and that dream and theme is realistic.

Summary: Makes you think, touches your heart
Review: Trudy (Tru) Walker is an everyday teenager. She has dreams of hosting "The Trudy Walker Show," and having fancy dinners with Brad Pitt because of its sucess. Her twin brother though, was stricken with asphyxia, and is a little less than an everyday teenager. The book, told from a diary point of view, tells of Tru's coping with the differences in her brother, and trying to survive preteen life herself. I could not put it down, and actually stayed up late reading it. :) Besides its great lesson, you can really feel Tru's emotions toward people who make fun of her brother.

The book is written in a compelling style, and really has stayed in my memory.

The book is very touching, and makes you think about bullying, and touching someone else's heart. Tru really cares for her brother, and I hope that there are other people like Tru who stand up for others, and love themselves int he process. This book is great for kids of any age, and could also do well as a read-aloud...
