Summary: Some decent ideas but nothing life changing
Review: He makes a few good points with a little fable but was it worth my time and $5.00? Probably not.

To sum it up:
1. Be positive.
2. Have the guts to go for it.

Summary: Sage advise in a story-line context
Review: I generally read only textual, step-by-step, how-to self-help books. This one was different. It is fictional and yet the author does an excellent job of offering advise on self-improvement. I read this book after reading The Instant Millionaire (also by Mark Fisher). This book went into a little more detail concerning changes we must make, but also rambled on a little more than needed. I liked one readers analogy, comparing this book to The Celestine Prophecy. I completely agree, however, I liked this book and loathed The Celestine Prophecy. All in all this book had many redeeming qualities and I do recommend that you read it.

Summary: Good Information - Bad Analogy
Review: I have mixed feelings about this book.
Some of the things that Fisher wrote was inspirational based on where I am in my life right now and I know I will refer back to them quite frequently.
At first I liked the fact that Fisher tried to use a fictional story to help bring out some good advice/information. By the end of the book though, I wasn't impressed by the story that was written because a lot of it seemed to be something you would read in a fairy tale and it didn't seem realistic so it was hard for me to relate to it.
It was hard for me to get past the personality that Fisher portrayed for the millionaire. In a self-help book, I believe the author should create characters and situations that you can relate to. The millionaire in this book seemed to have abilities and powers that I don't believe any human being would have so it was hard for me to envision myself becoming like him. I couldn't tell if the millionaire was supposed to be God, or whether he was at one time a regular human being and got to that level by using the "secrets" that he was trying to teach the student. Another thing I had a hard time with was when the millionaire starts talking about reincarnation. It was hard for me to continue with the book once I had read that. I decided to continue on based on the inspiration I felt by some of the advice that was written earlier in the book. I was a little disappointed in how the book ended. By the end of the book, more and more things were happening that seemed unrealistic and again was hard for me to relate to.
I would recommend this book as long as you can get past the religious beliefs that Fisher is pushing and be able to pull the good advice out of the story that is written.

Summary: A story of hope and ecouragement
Review: I remember enjoying the Instant Millionaire, but I found this new book by Mark Fisher to be the sappiest piece of fluff I can ever remember reading. From a promising start we are led to belive that the Instant Millionaire will treat us to some useful wisdom about acquiring riches. What it turns into is a corny and poorly written soap opera about a loser and his girlfriend. It was embarassing even reading this book and it's hard to believe that I even finished it. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one. You'd be much better off with Visionary Business, also told in the form of a fable, it actually gives some remarkably sound business advice in a charming and entertaining way - minus the soap opera.

Summary: Lessons for everyone to read. :-)
Review: I think the author was genious to think of using age-old pholosophies on success and incorporating them into a story. I have read many books on success, but this one was very refreshing. I am working on a project and this story breathed new life into me, at a time when I needed it! I'm ready to tackle my days in a different way. It was very motivational! It was so inspiring...I had to read it again a day later! I came across this book by shear accident and I'm glad I did! I had no idea it was a story! It's very educational and lessons for us all to use. I saw someone rated this book a one and said it was the worst book he had ever read. I disagree! There is a lot of viable information one can learn from reading this book. My philosophy is, even if you learn one thing from reading a book, magazine, news paper, etc.....it was worth the price it cost! Obviously, this person missed the entire message the author was conveying. I am going to buy copies for my friends. It's light easy reading with dynomite lessons for all to learn! Good work Mark... :)

Summary: Interesting story about the same old topic.
Review: I was disappointed because I have read this before in many different formats. This book does have a romance which is an unusual twist. I would not recommend it for a self-help book because this message is out there and has been for decades. Tommy Newberry's books are excellent as are Robert Kiyosaki's and they show you the steps to take.

Summary: Interesting story about the same old topic.
Review: It was a late, hot summer of 1997 while I was on my lunch breakfrom IBM at the local mall in Toronto. They had me doing what theycalled "systems research", but it was not satisfying myintelligence. And so I was at long lunch breaks and this day I popped by Coles, the bookstore in the mall. At this time I was always researching business books and company informations (having been reading on Warren Buffet and other great investors, such as Philip Fisher), I was naturally browsing the business section so I could better my knowledge in this area. My eyes caught a little book on the bottom shelf that read "The Millionaire's Secrets". This is how I stubmled upon this book, all by accident. Of course my first reaction to myself was "Here's another scam once again." I further thought "Yeah, you sure will be a Millionaire yourself by selling tons of this to pour souls who will buy this book". So I looked away at the other business books, completely ignoring this one.

After around 10 minutes of browsing this section, I took another glance back at the bottom shelf and thought I should prove my two previous thoughts correct and at least read the titles of the chapters. Chapter 1 read "In which the young man feels estranged at work ..." I thought "what the hell!" This is me! This is my own situation right now. It really got me more interested. I started reading a few pages right then and there. The book absorbed me. I was in a state of awe as my mouth stayed open while browsing the other chapters. I felt quite embarrassed at myself for my previous thoughts. I bought the book right then.

For the next couple of days (at lunch!) and night, I finished the book. I underlined it and took notes from it. It was as if he has written from my own perspective and about my own life! It was such an amazingly effective book that I marked it as the most influential book that I had read (since it was the first one that I had read in this field). I realized the author was Mark Fisher. I did a quick research on him and found out his 3 other Millionaire books (the Golfer was more recent) and bought them all. "The Instant Millionaire" as well refers to the notion that being a Millionaire is nothing but a state of mind. That's where it all begins. But this first one sat on my heart and mind. It became a guide.

This became a pointer to the areas of Self Help, previously I never looked at Self Help, I thought it was really for the mentally retarded individuals who need help in life! What a mistake! Through Mark Fisher I found Mr. Anthony Robbins and his great book "Awaken the Giant Within". He has devoted his life, goal, and focus fully to making the lives of people better! And guess what? As a result he has one of the best lives himself! So as you can see how one great book will lead the path to other great books and those will further radiate to others. It's all a chain reaction.

Too bad I am reviewing this now, 3 years later (since I just became aware of Amazon's review section!), if I did it in 1997, then perhaps more people would have read this and been affected by it, but I still hope to move people. After reading this book, I took action, I left IBM and set to achieve my own goal. I have been moving towards my goal ever since. I thought, how can I be living towards another person's dreams and goals (i.e. working for someone else) as opposed to my own.

I hope you will read this book if you haven't done yet. It is not to be taken lightly. It is written very simply with powerful meanings behind it. The story has a few elegant passages that are very touching.

Thank You, Steve. END

Summary: A millionaire shares more secrets...
Review: This book is a continuation of Mark Fisher's best-seller "The Instant Millionaire. It reads in a similar style, but is less surreal than the first book.

In fact, "Millionaire's Secrets" includes some romantic love, some (all-important) Real World challenges for the young millionaire and even a bit of skulduggery, Hollywood style.

If you're going to read this book, read "Instant Millionaire" first. "Millionaire's Secrets", while covering many similar topics, lacks the all- important Six Year Formula laid out in "Instant" and, therefore there is a proper order that this material should be discovered in.

To be quite honest, when I began applying the principles laid out in Fisher's books, I got the strongest results early on. I had some intriguing 'glimpses' that were utterly bewitching. I can't be more specific, because it's hard to put those experiences into words.

I will definitely persevere with this path, despite the sporadic hit-and-miss results.

I strongly recommend "Secrets of the Rainmaker" (Success Without Stress) to accompany the Fisher Millionaire books. "Rainmaker", written by Chin Ning Chu, covers similar topics again, but it does so with a more scientific approach, helping you understand what is actually going on (within you) while you do your concentration and meditation exercises.

Mark Fisher's books are enjoyable to read, making it clear that, until you have your mind in proper shape, nothing good will start to happen.

It must be said that the premise of "Millionaire's Secrets" is less believable than "Instant Millionaire", but if you can get it to work for you, then by all means. I read the book in one sitting - around 5 hours, give or take, and will no doubt refer back to it frequently.

The book ends on a mysterious note, suggesting there'll be more to come. Perhaps there's another book already, one I'm not familiar with.

The bottom line is: read Fisher's books. I found "Rainmaker" to answer a lot of questions I had, fitting in neatly with the Millionaire titles, and I am glad there are many books around of similar subject matter. Obviously it creates repetition, but readers of Mark Fisher books should know by now just how good repetition can be for you!

You've nothing to lose. Read this book. It flows well, is entertaining and is much easier to wade through than many other personal development, / goal setting / prosperity consciousness books.

Let's face it, a LOT of people seem to relate closely to the young struggling hopeful who is detailed in this book. I suspect you may be one of them yourself!

However, those flashes

Summary: Some decent ideas but nothing life changing
Review: While readind the book I was inspired like a person who found a real secret. But in the end of the book the oldman just gives to young man a start capital. It would be more helpful if author teaches how to grow from your state when you have no ways to get a start capital. But in any case, thanks to Mr.Fisher for inspiration and advices.
